I realise this question is old, but you never know, might help someone in the future. This particular error is that the probe is not correctly seated, usually the magnets have become slightly loose. The solution is to take the probe head off the cmm, and push the magnets against your surface table or suitable flat surface, this should push the magnets into their correct position. If this doesn't help, it may be that you've managed to break that particular part, if you have a probe rack, try a different probe. Lastly, if you crashed the CMM by hitting something, ensure you didn't bend your probe in the process (and the ruby is still there!), this doesn't help the error code fix, but worth checking as the cmm crashing into something at speed is the most likely cause of this E671 error.
This is related to the SP25-M Module which is connected to the PH10,
Switch the machine off,
Disconnect the SP25-M Module using the Renishaw key or a flat blade screw driver,
Re-connect the SP25-M and switch the machine back on,
If this is still causing an error you will need to buy/try a new or spare SP25-M Module,
Hope this helps,
Nath
