C2 11 is no ignition.
Clean combustion parts yearly as recommended in manual is first step.
Other causes can be loose wiring, bas gas valve, dirty air intake, bad venting, bad sensors etc.
Test these parts using service manual. Call Rheem since Rheem does not post service manuals.

Easy solutions for C2 11:

Rheem is one of the big manufacturers but has disproportionate number of questions at fixya since they try to funnel problems through service techs instead of posting do-it-yourself service bulletins. People want do-it-yourself service bulletins, as appear on the Bosch site for their products. Easy-fix in this sense would be to buy Bosch, and read service manuals aforehand to see if you have testing skills and equipment to maintain and repair tankless water heater.

Easy solution for C2 11 Rheem problem is don't install gas tankless water heater, since all costs are energy and tankless are expensive to install, maintain, repair, and replace for the mere savings of 1-8 per month.

Third solution for C2 11 no-ignition is to clean burner and combustion parts, and sand carbon off the igniter, on a yearly basis, as recommended in manual.

Fourth solution is to call a qualified service technician each year as recommended in manual, and have technician fix problem and catch water heater up on recommended service. This person can check other causes for C2 11 such as bad igniter, bad gas solenoid, low gas pressure, air in gas line, improper unit grounding, bad wiring, bad sensors, etc.
This check-up can also make sure vent drain is working properly and that acidic water vapor and other resulting combustion by-product are going into the household drain and eventually out to sea instead of dripping down into the heat exchanger causing rust and premature failure of exchanger.

Next solution will not solve C2 11 error code, but can address other error codes before they happen: Maintain water heater on yearly and monthly basis as recommended in manual. This is good for folks who like projects.

Multiple error codes can mean PC board failure.
C2 11 is no ignition.
Error 24 is malfunction of operational switch: "press max or mim button on PC board, or replace PC board." On some models, max and mim button can be located just above dip switches, and rotates with screwdriver. See diagram in manual.

Error code C2 11 is 'no ignition'
Ensure you have gas to the appliance.
Ensure gas type and pressure are correct.
Bleed all air from gas lines.
Ensure gas line, meter, and regulator are sized properly.
Ensure appliance is properly grounded.
Check gas solenoid valves for open or short circuits.
Ensure igniter is operational.
Check igniter wiring harness for damage.

hi pete here ill try and help this could be 2 things check the sensor on the unit the outher one is a qustion has the gas company changed your meter latley and turned off you gas and not come back to light your poilet because this code also means not enough gas or wrong type of gas

could be overheat stat or fan check the little hose at the fan area for pinhole next choice diaphrapm valve then micro switch best of luck
