These collars are inhumane. Patience, a whistle and treats work far better and your dog will not hate you or fear you. Dogs only want to please their owners. so kindness, a firm voice, and patience love work very, very well. :)
to stop dogs barking you have to have the correct environment
they have to be able to see out of their area
they have to have companionship ( other dog as a play pal)
they need to be entertained ( toys )
finally there is a barking collar that can be obtained from a vet or pet shop
it is energized by the bark and gives a small shock to the throat of the dog
IT is effective and is not harmful to the animal and if not used when you are around to correct their behavior the mere fact that when it goes on they will, not bark
I had same problem with an Innotek Bark collar. However after my dog s barking caused shocks the first times he wore it and quickly he changed that behavior. It finally and quickly got to the point that I still used it on him but I never had batteries in it as just wearing the collar was enough to stop his annoying the neighbors. These collars do not have a long lifespan like most electronic goods.
