Power on password issue

Hi,my guess is you have forgotten your password,no problem, here is what you need to do,take out your battery, unscrew the back panel where you have the RAM slot and wireless card slot, look at the extreme end of these compartment, you would see two identical screws(Allen in nature)with a keyboard diagram just directly above them, unscrew these also, now turn to the front open the lid,on the keyboard, just immediately after the Esc key, you'd see a latch slide it backwards, after F4,F8 and F12 slide them all backwards to free the keyboard, lift the keyboard up slowly to reveal the CMOS battery, unplug it and wait for about an hour or two before plugging it back, couple the system back starting with the keyboard to the Ram Compartment, replace the battery and power up the system press F10 to enter BIOS Setup, your power-on password should have been cleared by now .accept all changes, when your system loads up change your system date and time.

How do you open mouse to change battery

You have to first find the compartments for the batteries on both the mouse and keyboard. Most likely they will be on the bottom of each device and only held shut by a latch. Sometimes on mice there is a button that you will have to push in order to have the compartment open up.

hi, try to perform the steps in the article below from HP.. http://tinyurl.com/y8ek43e and also try to perform a diagnostic test on mouse. if its a HP computer to do so.. go to Start -- All Programs -- PC Help and Tools -- Diagnostic Tool..
once the tool is open go to Communication.. and run a test on mouse.. if ur unable to use it there.. then if ur system is under warranty.. call HP and get the mouse replaced..
