If you have a Backup/Restore Card. You can manually restore the system. If not, then you will have to reprogram everything.

SOURCE: we had a power outage,

IS the system time/date correct?
Chances are that the voicemail is picing up and "Transferring call" to the operator (Ext 10)
The system will need to be re-programmed from scratch.

How to restore voicemail after power outage avaya

The only way to restore the setting is through a Backup & Restore card plugged into the system. Also check the system batteries. This will keep power to system during an outage.

Lucent Partner 18D phone loses speed dial program after power outage. Is there a backup battery that needs to be replaced?

At the phone: No

This phone is attached to a Partner panel somewhere in your building most likely. At that panel there is either a slot card or a carrier box with several cards in it. One of them is the processor card, on that card at the front should be an area at the bottom w/ a "+" plus sign on it, move the black (usually that color) slide and there will be a carrier for 2 AA batteries (or AAA), replace those and the info should be saved. Alternatively some of these system have a PCMCIA memory card that you can use to back them up and then restore them if something goes wrong later. If you find the main phone on your system (usually 34 button) it may even tell you the batteries need replaced. When we install we also highly recommend hooking the main phone system to an APC backup, even something as small as a 500-600 series just to both protect your investment and in small outages eliminate the worry of this problem.

Hope this helps you.

Avaya 18D phone only speaker works not the handset. Order a replacement phone and the new phone does the same. We swapped locations snd the problem goes with the phone. Handset placed on a known working...

Avaya Partner 18D Button phone:
Two possible solutions,
First, could have a bad handset cord.
Second, I have come across a bad handset connection ports on the Euro style phones. The handset cord and the port just don't mesh well or the port itself is bad.

Lucent Partner 18D cant fully reboot itself

That one doesn't sound too good.
You could perform a reset through programming which should clear the scratch pad.
Thats done by entering programming on either ext. 10 or 11
Press feature 00 then the left hand intercom twice.
Next enter # 728, the display should say reset save all then reboot the system. If the problem is still there, then the processor is malfunctioning and will need to be replaced.

My screen on my partner 18d displays a message of replace system battery w/power on. what does that mean?

the system battery is there for example a power outage, if a power outage occures then the battery will keep the phone from resetting and loosing all of your phone numbers. so depending on what kind of battery it needs then you might want to call the manufacture.
