The side oven light comes on but no heat

When I turn the dial to set side oven on, the light comes on but fan/ heat is intermittent. Becoming worse No heat now at all

  • Steven Fox May 23, 2014

Hi Pauline Thomas, I want to help you with your problem, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box?Does the fan go around at all, if so is it running at normal speed. Does heating element work at all, is the element behind the fan.
These units generally break down together, the element overheats and burns out because the fan is not going fast enough to clear the heat.
It could also be the thermostat of course, really unless you are competent and have the right testing equipment you really need a sparky to check it out.
You can purchase the spares you require from espares.co.uk, they are generally quite good prices and will send out pretty quick, most contractors will purchase for you but obviously put their profit on top.
Get back to me if you need more help.

SOURCE: Fan not coming on in fan oven Second (smaller)

fan motors seized or slow. Turn ovens on with the doors open and switch them on individually, you should see the fans turn behind rear panels, if not see if elements redden up as test if not they may be faulty also.

Chef Regency Gas Wall Oven - oven fan working, light working , grill working as well but the main oven not responding when turning dial. The Piezo ignition is intermittent and no gas sound coming out.

The Piezo control board opens the gas valve while it makes a spark. Once the flame is lit the milivolt flame sensor holds it open from there on. Replace the piezo control board to fix.

Why is my oven not heating up?

Call an electrician. Sounds like a thermal cut out or a bad element.

Possibly the plugs either aren't connected properly or incorrectly plugged. Recheck the plugs. Also check fuses, maybe one blew while it was being plugged. The work should have been done with the battery disconnected for that reason.

Remove the panel on the top of the back of the stove - check for grease residue on connectors plugged into circuit board - clean connectors and circuit board with electrical contact cleaner - reassemble and test for correct operation. The oven vent at the rear of stove sometimes leaks grease filled vapors into the area of the control circuit board.causing bad or intermittent electrical connections to oven temp sensors and front controls on the oven.

Temp display shows 444

If everything on your B1691N0GB oven seems to be working, i.e. all the lights are on and fan comes on in fan oven setting, but there is no heat from fan oven, conventional oven or grill, try turning your oven off at the mains, then turn on again. If the temperature display then shows 444, your oven is locked. To unlock, make sure the central control knob is in the "out" position, then press the fan oven and light buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds or so, until 333 appears on the display. Your oven is now unlocked.
