If the oven in not in a cook mode, but it still getting hot, the control board has failed. You need disconnect power at the breaker and remove the control board. All control boards can be repaired a number of mail in service centers. An example is applianceboardrepair.com

Stove will not turn off CHECK

Temperature Control Thermostat

If the oven won't turn off the oven thermostat is often the cause of the problem. The electrical contacts inside the oven thermostat can weld themselves together and then the oven won't turn off. If this happens, turn off power to the entire appliance at the household circuit breaker or fuse. The oven thermostat usually cannot be tested and must be replaced if defective.

Oven Control Board

The oven control board has a set of relays that turn on and off power to the bake and broil circuits according to the customer settings and sensor input. If the oven won't turn off it could be that one of the relays on the oven control board is shorted closed, providing voltage to the heating circuit. It can be dangerous if the oven won't turn off. Don't leave the oven unattended without turning off power to the oven.

Relay board:
Some ovens are equipped with a relay board. This circuit board has several relays which control the switching of electrical current to the oven heat source. If the oven won't turn off it may be that one or more of the relays on the relay board have failed. If this happens replace the relay board. The relays on the board are not sold separately. ALSO CHECK THE BAKE AND BROIL ELEMENT.

Hi, you guessed right. You need to replace the thermostat which is in charge of regulating the heat in the oven.

Temperature when using frigidare oven, keeps getting hotter and does not cool down

Good Afternoon Andrea,

I see that you're having issues with your Frigidaire oven, and the heating element being red hot the entire time you were cooking no matter how much you turned the temperature down.

I suggest giving your appliance a hard reset. You will do this by either unplugging it or cutting the power off at the circuit breaker for at least 2-3 minutes. When power is restored to your oven, you will need to set the clock by entering in the time and pressing start. Preheat the oven, to whatever desired temperature, and if it is still running hotter than it should be, I suggest you contact your local authorized technician. I hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Hi there The oven burner is always on high ,even when I turn it on 200..

The oven burner will usually always be on high, until the thermostat reaches the desired temperature and then will shut off the burner until the temperature drops and then restart on high again. If your oven is getting hotter than what is selected then it could be the thermostat that is not working right.

Bosch built in double oven: had new element fitted to main fan oven, but now oven keeps on getting hotter does not stop heating up when right temp reached.

This type of problem normally can be ascribed to a defective thermostat. Unfortunately there is no test for a thermostat, it has to be replaced to see if the problem has been sorted out.
One thing you can do is remove the thermostat bulb from the oven and place place it in a position where it will not heat up. Place an oven thermometer in the oven. Switch on and see of the temperature climbs above what you wee seeing before. This is a very much hands on test as you have no control over the temperature that the elements can get to. As soon as you see the temperature reach a point above that seen before, shut down immediately.

My caloric over keep tripping my breaker. seem to happen only when it is warm

I suspect it is the oven element causing the problem, as it gets hotter, the insulation resistance is probably breaking down, and causing the trip to operate.
