SOURCE: inside fan motor - evaporator

Yes if you dont hear the evap fan wprking remove rear panel in freezer let me know what you see. Is coil iced over? Is fan running? Is the motor warm? Attempt to spin the blade gently to see if the motor is bound. You can oil these.

SOURCE: Top freezer Freezes/ Bottom not cold

defrost problem. advance defrost timer to defrost (till it shuts off) . remove freezer panel, check voltage and amps to heater,if heater is hot, replace timer, if heater is cold and no voltage, replace defrost limit switch. defrost all ice, carefully! with hair dryer, no poking with screwdriver.

. Cut everything off for a few minutes then turn it back on and listen for a click from the compressor relay as the compressor tries to start.
Is the compressor motor running. If no check starter/overload relay.

Testimonial: "may be helpful, will check to see if compressor kicks in."

Whirlpool GS6NHAXVK refrigerator not freezing , just cool.

There are a few possible reasons why your Whirlpool GS6NHAXVK refrigerator's freezer is not freezing, but just cooling. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Check the temperature settings: Ensure that the temperature settings are set to the appropriate level. The recommended temperature for the freezer is between 0 and 5 degrees Fahrenheit (-18 to -15 degrees Celsius).
  2. Check the freezer fan: The freezer fan is responsible for circulating cold air throughout the freezer. If it's not working, then the air won't circulate properly, and your freezer won't freeze. You can check if the fan is working by opening the freezer door and listening for the fan sound. If it's not working, you may need to replace it.
  3. Check the defrost system: If the defrost system isn't working correctly, then ice can build up on the evaporator coils, blocking the flow of cold air. You can check the defrost system by removing the back panel inside the freezer and looking for any ice buildup. If there is a lot of ice buildup, you may need to replace the defrost thermostat, defrost timer, or defrost heater.
  4. Check the condenser fan: The condenser fan is responsible for drawing air across the condenser coils to remove heat from the refrigerator. If it's not working correctly, the refrigerator will not be able to remove heat, and the freezer will not be able to freeze. You can check the condenser fan by removing the back panel and looking for any obstructions. If the fan is not running, you may need to replace it.
  5. Check the compressor: The compressor is responsible for compressing the refrigerant, which cools the air in the refrigerator. If it's not working correctly, then the refrigerator won't be able to cool properly. You can check the compressor by listening for a humming sound coming from the back of the refrigerator. If you don't hear anything, or if the sound is abnormal, you may need to replace the compressor.
If none of these troubleshooting steps work, it's best to call a professional appliance repair technician to diagnose and fix the issue.

Sears side by side freezer and refrigerator, refrigerator is too cold

Hello,
Most times this is a bad cold control, but there are other things to check for. Make sure the condenser fan is working and the coils are not covered with dust. A separated heat exchanger ( small capillary tubing soldered to the large suction line ) can separate from one another and make the fridge run too long. - tape tubing back together. A poor working evaporator fan motor could also make the fridge run too long and freeze - replace the fan motor. An inefficient compressor or refrigeration system could make the fridge run too long and freeze - have a service tech check this out. A misaligned control settings, make sure the air damper and cold control have not been bumped and are out of normal settings. Stuck open air diffusers or air dampers are becoming more and more common for allowing too much air to be blown into the fresh food section and freezing things. On all frost free fridge's the freezer temp air is blown into the fresh food section, if you have "easy" to freeze items ( eggs, veggies in water, etc ) in front of or under where the freezer temp air comes out, they could freeze - store them in a different spot. Doors not closing properly making the fridge run too long is something else to check for the air deflector,As you know, the deflector directs the freezer air toward the front of the frig and the rear of the cold control.
I think this will help in solving the problem... Take care......

Fridge is freezing

Hello,

A tip from Gerard in Georgia: My Sears ( Frigidare built ) refrigerator suddenly started freezing thing in the refrigerator compartment. I started to replace the cold control, not having found any other problem, when I discovered that the plastic air deflector at the top rear of the frig had been knocked off. I replaced it and all is OK. I thought you might add this to your suggestion list. As you know, the deflector directs the freezer air toward the front of the frig and the rear of the cold control, which is now functioning properly. Luckily, I found this before rushing out to purchase the control.

Take care.

Freezer not freezing nor ice maker

Is the refrigerator still working? Is there any cold air in the freezer? If your compressor stopped working it would cause the refrigerator to be warm also. I had a problem with my amana refrigerator where the freezer wasn't getting cold enough and it was due to a condenser fan running intermittently. i replaced the fan and was back in business. i would check to make sure both your fan and your compressor are operating...

Freezer not freezing

When was the last time you cleaned the condenser coils? They are either on the bottom of the unit (underneath) behind the grill, or on the back of the refrigerator. Use a refrigerator cleaning brush' (available at most home centers) to do the cleaning, or call an appliance service technician to accomplish this. After that, it could also be the compressor, or the condenser fan (bottom mounted coils), or a 'freon' leak. Call a repairman then!!

You can put a fan blowing on the condenser coil and see if this helps.

Freezer no longer freezing and refrigerator is not cold enough either.

  1. check if the evaporator fan motor is running (inside the freezer)
  2. Same for the condenser fan motor on the bottom in the back of the fridge
  3. Clean condenser coils underneath or in the back of the fridge
  4. if there is a frost on the back wall in freezer - you've got the defrost problem, check defrost heater, defrost bimetal thermostat, and defrost timer

Kenmore Elite Trio

If the fan beind the rear cover inside the freezer isn't running it can cause circulation problems one of which is freezing in the drawers. The fan may not run when the door is open so hold the door switch down. It should be running when the compressor is running.

Freezer is cold but bottom of refrigerator is not

Replace the fan - it's called the evaporator fan. It circulates cold air evenly in the freezer and blows cold air into the refrigerator section. Its failure would cause the symptoms you describe. Good luck with the repair.
