Your problem with the store is unclear. If you just purchased it, take it back. And I urge you to dig into your pockets for something a little better, as this system is not known to be reliable or exactly high-quality.

First of all, any analog sound processor employed with a multichannel receiver will on;y function correctly for analog 2-channel sources. Second, it needs an opening in the audio path that allows it to get between the source and the amplifiers, commonly know as a Tape Monitor loop. There would be a Line Out and a corresponding selectable Line In that does not disable any other source. That way a seelcted source like FM would exit the unit, be processed, and come back IN for listening.
This receiver doesn't have that.
You COULD place the EQ between an external source and Line In if you want to Equalize one source for playback.
