Pull the bolt back far enough that it locks open on the empty magazine. Push cartridges down into the magazine and then pull the bolt back and let it snap closed to chamber a round.

My sks wont cycle

SKS for home defense is not a good idea unless your nearest neighbor is a couple miles thru the woods and down in a valley.
I'd do a really good cleaning and lube. There may be some cosmoline still in some of the parts.
12gauges make a much better home defense. #4 buck is nice. Twenty or so pellets the size of a .22.
Two-legged predators run just hearing the action cycle on a pump 12ga.

Stapler will staple ok then it will jamb and break staple in half, and driver will stick but you can put driver back and will run for a short time then has same problem. It also is breaking up staples as it...

It sounds like the gun is working properly but is having feeding problems. First, make sure you are using the proper staples for your gun. Senco makes three versions of the SKS(XP) stapler: The SKS L11-17 drives 18 gauge, 1/4" staples. The SKS M12-17 drives 18 gauge, 3/8" staples. The SKS N12-17 drives 16 guage, 7/16" staples. None of them use staples over 1 1/2" long and each gun will only shoot the staples it is set up for. If you are using the correct staples make sure the rail and nose peices are clean and the feeder shoe and staples are riding freely on the rail and the feeder spring holds them firmly forward in the gun. Lastly check the tip of the driver to make sure it is square, it should not be rounded or have any chips out of it.

My sks jams a lot. i sometimes get 2 or 3 rounds out of it and it jams again. i have to extract the spent shell and help the next shell in. what can i do

SKS's were built without polished ramps Have a gunsmith regrind and, polish the bolt ramp and, your rounds should insert and, extract flawlessly.
