I have a jura x7 that is stuck in the rinse unit cycle. What would be causing this?

How do we take the top of the Capressa Jura E8 machine off. The machine appears to be clogged and the Capresso people think that air has gotten into the machine do to a filter that was not soaked prior to putting in. Any suggestions? Thanks Mary

Try this.

You can enter a sort of diagnostic menu by pressing I believe the bypass doser and the medium coffee button together while you turn the machine on.

I forget which now, but one of the buttons will spin the brew unit one way, and another button will spin the brew unit the other way. The third button will activate the doser which makes a very LOUD clack noise.

You should be able to "wind" the brew unit manually this way in order to release it.

Take the brew unit out again, and try to twist the rotational mechanism so that the little arrows in the front of the axis align. This should allow you to insert the unit.
On insertion, you might also need to push the little handle on the front of the brew unit to allow the coffee trough to fit.

Let it rinse it may run for some time.
you will not be able to remove the brew unit as it is engaged to be rinsed.

SOURCE: descaled and rinsed the machine.

If you are rinsing after doing the descale it has to run out of water. The pump will quit and the rinse should be gone. The you have to go into the menu and select "reset descale" and chose "YES" and then "enter", then you can exit. It will tell you when it needs to be descaled again. Make sure that your water hardness is set to "4".
