How do I get device unfrozen?

After system update device (RAZR M) is locked - message says UIDs are inconsistent, you need to wipe your data partition or your device will be unstable. Is hard reset only option?

Wipe my data partition

you need to boot into recovery mode to wipe the data partition. Doing this will reset the phone's data partition. Doing this will delete all data off the device and return it to the same state it was in when you first powered it on.

  1. completely power off the phone
  2. press and hold the power, volume up, and home buttons until you see the Samsung logo
  3. use volume up/down to scroll and power to select
  4. scroll to and select wipe data/factory reset
  5. select yes on any following prompts
  6. reboot device
If the above process does not work on your device, see alternate methods to boot into recovery mode in the following link.
