Machine is behaving as if not getting any power, but light is on. Press foot pedal and absolutely nothing happens

I was sewing and lifted my foot from the pedal to make an adjustment to the fabric. Pressed my foot back on pedal and nothing happens. Absolutely no noise comes from the machine. If I use the hand wheel, the needle moves freely.

There is probably a bad connection in your foot pedal. Try moving it around with your hands at the contact points while pressing to activate. If it goes when you are shifting its position then it needs to be fixed or replaced.

Hi Jerry. It was the foot pedal. But, unfortunately not the connection. It was internal. I ended up taking to a repair shop and had the insides of the pedal replaced.

SOURCE: Hand wheel spins without moving the needle

I used to have an old Bernina that had an inner and outer hand wheel. Loosening the inner wheel disconnected the needle bar from the motor so you could wind the bobbin without running the needle up and down. It sounds to me like your machine has the same feature, but resistance on the needle makes the inner wheel loosen up. I don't know whether wrenching on it as tight as you can would be enough, or whether this is a symptom indicating that there is something loose internally in the connection between the inner and outer wheels. Good luck!

Chances are you have a small piece of thread stuck in the raceway, turn the balance wheel bac kwards and you may free it off otherwise take out the bobbin and bobbin case and the raceway if you have the type with a drop down gate and clear it.

No power going into the foot pedal, when i step on half bubble nothing happens

The foot controls with the air function tend to fail, usually because they develop a leak. You may be able to get a replacement from your dealer.

Foot control on my Juki 2010 sewing machine is not working, as if there's no power reaching it at all. There is power to my machine as indicated by light coming on when main power switch turned on.

Pam, Could be a bad/broken wire, may be repairable, you should take your pedal in to be tested, if diagnosed to be bad you may have to order a new replacement pedal. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Machine going too fast

The foot pedal is faulty, the electronic voltage control is not working and only when the contacts are connected physically does the machine receive any power (maximum) It depends on your type of foot pedal whether or not it is repairable

Foot pedal not working

Well, you are definitely getting power from the electric plug in.

Let's do some diagnostic work. Do you hear anything when you press the foot pedal? Any hum? Did you happen to leave it in bobbin winding mode?

your machine doesn't have a "sew" button for use without the pedal. So please rotate the hand wheel toward you as you press the pedal. Did the motor take over and sew?

If you know someone with a meter... have them test the pedal. (they will place probes on/in the part that plugs in which tests for shorts, etc.) If that tests ok... then we know it's something more than the pedal and it will need servicing by a Singer Tech.

On my singer 9005 the pressure foot lifter does not stay in the up position - does not hold the pressure foot up.

These plastic presser bar lifters do wear out a lot ,very common,,,,,,,,You can lift it up and file as close to the machine side on top just a couple of stroke son the file will usually give it a surface to hang on and it will stay up ,much easier than changing the plastic lever
