PTT turning off radio means you need new batteries. Charge and try again.

SOURCE: T5900 Walkie Talkie Issue

Hello Bo Duke,

If one radio won't walk to the other my guess if that you have the Privacy Code function set up incorrectly.

The privacy code function mutes the radio unless it receives a signal from another radio transmitting the same privacy code. If Privacy Codes are turned on for Radio A but not turned on for Radio B then you will be able to transmit from Radio A to Radio B but not from Radio B to Radio A. If Privacy Codes are turned on for both radios but each unit is set to a different code then neither radio will be able to talk to the other.

Make sure that the radios are both set to the same privacy code or that the privacy code function is turned off on both radios. You can find more information on how this function is set in the radio's Owner's Manual.

Hope this helps!

Scanning Channels
Use scanning to monitor channels for transmissions or to find someone
in your group who has accidentally changed channels.
1. Short press
MENU until the "Z" appears. The current setting
On/Off will flash.
2. Press either
+ or to turn On or Off.
3. Press the PTT to confirm or
MENU to continue set up.

This one should be a very close match. The T4508 is a foreign version of the T4500.

SOURCE: Is kenwood walkie talkie and motorola walkie

If you are talking about FRS radios, the answer would be yes. If you are talking about business radios, it depends on how they were programmed. Business radios have many frequencies available.

SOURCE: Motorola Walkie-Talkie will not turn on.

The same thing happened to me, all you have to do is put it on charge for 20 mins, then take it out, keep on pressing the on button, leave again for 5 mins and then click the on button and it should turn on. It just needs a boot or a jumpstart if you have not used it for a long time like me :) Hope this helps

Instructions, Manual For Motorola walkie Talkie FCC ID: K7GMJBGJ

The FCC ID won’t help you find the info you’re looking for, you’ll need to find the model number and possibly the software version number. This info should be on the back of the unit or maybe inside the battery cover.

Hi,

It is Possible, but not recommended.

By the way when you post a query, always Give the following info:

Make & Model of your radio

Giving the FCC ID is of no value here.

When I press PTT the walkie talkie turns off

Dead, shorted, not fully charged, bad battery connection, or bad battery.

I have a motorola cp 110 walki talkie .red light comes on but no beep or commuunication

If you have no initialization beep when you turn the radio on, it is likely the radio is in need of repair. Immediate things which come to mind are a sticking PTT button, something stuck in audio accessory jack, or a bad speaker. You might check the radio using a second radio and see if you can transmit.

best regards.

The battery is fully charged on the walkie talkies and all are on the same channel, however out of 12 walkie talkies only 2 will work. When ever you push the push to talk button the walkie talkie shuts...

Your batteries are either no good, or not charged. When you press the PTT button it takes more energy than being in standby mode. If you have a battery problem it will fail quickly when the PTT is pressed.

Rechargeable batteries last approx. 18-24 months. Check your battery for a 3-digit date code. It is usually a 3 digit number followed by a couple of letters. The numbers tell the date of manufacture. The first number is the year, followed by the week of the year. 025 would be 2010 the 25th week. (or if very old it could be 2000 the 25th week.)

If you feel age is not a problem, you might check your charger(s) to see they are fully powered, and clear of debris on the contacts (and the radio contacts as well). Clean with a pencil eraser if needed.

A few tips: Be certain when placing your radios on the charge they are turned off. Check your wall outlet to be certain it doesn't get shut off with a light switch. Expect to replace your batteries every 2-3 years.

Best regards.

The power button on the talkabout is jammed into the on position so the walkie will not charge or turn on. How can we fix this or where can we get it fixed?

Please open the set with the help of screw driver , & check for functionality of switch , & remove any particle that is jamming PTT button . You can check the functionality of walkie talkie by pushing the PTT inner switch with the help of a screw driver.

Motorola walkie

With the radio turned off, hold in the PTT and the Monitor button at the same time. Continue to hold these in while turning the radio on. Wait for the radio to finish making sounds before releasing the PTT and monitor button. Then simply press the menu button to walk through programming each of the features. When you have reached the end of the user programmable features you will notice the radio has a different chirp to signal you are done. Then simply turn off the radio to leave programming mode.
