How can I transfer from tape in camera onto dvd

The best way to do this is to download the video onto a computer. Using video software (there is a lot available on the internet), edit your video and then send it to the DVD burner.

I want to play an external video in my camera. How to do it?

The camera is intended to take videos (and photos) and display them. It is not intended to display videos from another source.
If the external video was taken on another Canon camera then you might be able to view it on the camera if you put it onto a memory card. You'll have to put it onto the card using the camera that took the video, or else using a card reader connected to a computer.

Is the RAM the same on both computers? Sounds like one has less RAM and therefore not enough processing power to run the video smoothly.

How do you put video from your camcorder to your computer?

With a Canon ZR70MC camcorder, you can record video onto miniDV tape, or onto the SDmemory card in Card Camera mode.

To access video on the miniDV tape, you will use the DV cable (IEEE 1394 aka FireWire). Connecting this cable to your windows computer will allow you to transfer high quality video using the software supplied on the digital video solutions disc, or just about any other windows video editing software.

To access videos stored on the SD memory card, remove the card and place it in a card reader connected to your computer, or attach a usb cord to the camera and the computer. Video stored on the memory card is limited to 10 second clips @ 320x240 resolution.

How do i upload video from the camera onto a computer?

Hi,

The digital camera we bought, both canon sony previously, came with software that installed onto the desktop. When the camera is attached to the computer through either USB or firewire cable, you can easily copy over the movie. Or if you can use the memory stick from the camera in your computer, that will work as well.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using "Fixya".

How does one transfer videos and stills onto cd/dvd and/or a pc?

I find the best way is with your own computer. Using a system like iMovie you can hook up your camera, import the footage and from there burn it onto a CD/DVD. Hope that helps.

Trying to play off-camera stored video, when replaced onto SD card in camera

Did you change the file name on the original video? Are you able to put the video back onto the camera? If you changed the file name, you can't put it back onto the camera. It also needs to be in AVI format which is the video format that the camera records in.

Hope this helps!

Movie Won't Transfer Over to My Computer

Well it took me over an hour to figure this one out. Loathingly I loaded the Canon software onto my computer. Then instead of using the card reader in my hard drive I used the USB cable that came with the camera. I downloaded the movie onto my hard drive through the USB cable and PRESTO, it played perfectly on my computer with no problem. Hope that helps.
