Have you tried a pair of headphones to see if they work?
Is the sound ouput muted? (a lot of laptops have a physical button to
do this...

check to see if the laptop is muted. Also, check the
volume control to see if everything is up where it should be, including
Speaker Out.

If I've got this all straight, the only thing that it can be is an
issue with the plug on the speakers and the jack on the laptop.

Obviously the computer is putting out sound to the headphone jack as
evidenced by your ability to listen through headphones. The speakers
work on another computer. So, it has to be something specific about
the Speakers on this laptop. Plug/Jack problem is the only thing that
comes to mind.

Sir my delln5010 laptop internal speakers are not functioning , yesterday when i was listening to music it suddenly stops and after it was not functioning

Hi sir,
How can you say that it is the internal speaker that is defective? Have you tried another sound output, like headset or external speakers? If you have, and it works then the problem is definitely the speakers. You will need to have it serviced/replaced. If even the external speakers do not dork, then the problem is the sound card which is embedded on the motherboard. That means you will need to have the motherboard replaced.
But before anything else, try to check the sound playback if it is properly set to default. Sometimes we may have installed an application or clicked on something that changes the default output of our speakers. Check it first and hopefully it fixes it. Make sure that you have the right default sound output.

most system has seperate audio ports for the speaker and the headphone but they are interchangeable. try plugging the speaker on the audio your using for the headphone. if your already using the same audio jack then try using another speaker, but since you mentioned that the headphone works then its possible you might need to replace your speaker

Hello .. Thank you very much . I was playing a music with my laptop and i tried to connect a ear pin for the speaker and all of a sudden the sound went off so you cant hear any sound . when ever i connect...

Plugging-in a set of headphones to the "audio-out" port *SHOULD* cause the internal speakers to become QUIET.

Unplug the headphones, to make the speakers work.

Built in speakers not working

Are you using external speakers? or internal?

EXTERNAL SPEAKERS: If your are plugging speakers into your headphone jack and they dont play, but you plug headphones into the same port and they work fine.. then it is the external speakers.

INTERNAL SPEAKERS: But if you are using the speakers in the laptop, then your speakers are probably bad. Try some software settings, but probly just bad speakers. Could also be that the speaker cord inside the laptop came unplugged from the motherboard. In which case you would have to take the laptop apart and plug it back into the motherboard.

Good Luck.

Ne w laptop wont let me hear through speakers

hi,

you can try and plug the speaker set into an old walkman or ipod headphone jack if you have it and see if they work, if they dont work with any other input they are defective so take them back.
