Adjust the tie rod ends to achieve toe-in/out adjustment. Measure across the wheels at the front of the steering tyre and then measure across the tyre at the rear of the steering tyre ( same height) and see what the difference is. Adjust the tie rod ends until the front measurement is smaller than the rear by about 1/8 inch . Lock up the lock nuts on the tie rod ends.

I have the same car and don't get bent at this answer .... but if you bought it used and don't know the full extent of the car check the computer and change the steering to low or normal effort ... High effort is harder than my z28 used to be ... and going around entrance/exit ramps you really have to put some effort into it ...

Make sure you have brake lights. This is were the shifter solenoid gets it's signal from to get it out of gear.
One thing you can try is turn the igntion switch towards the run postion stopping just short of activating the electronics. Then try and move shifter to neutral then you can start it and out it into gear so you can drive it to get it fixed.

SOURCE: i have a 2000 lincoln continental and the alarm
yes there is but unfortunately if it is a stock system I believe it has to be done at the dealer, but also if you car battery is getting weak even if it shows no symptoms of failer yet the car alarm will be the first to show problems,so to save some money have the battery and charging system checked first and also replace the battery in the key fob(remote)if all of this checks out then you may want to take it to a Lincoln/ford dealer.hope this helps

Hello. Thanks for choosing fixya! Begin with the fuse for that seat. Even though it may appear to be ok change it anyway. Then check the operation. If it is still not working unplug it from the wiring harness, get a can of electronic contact cleaner from the auto parts store and squirt some into the plug and the receptacle then replace the harness and check it again. 4 thumbs up please. ty
