Samsung SR-42NMB fridge leaking!

This is caused by a blocked defrost drain. The cold air for the fridge is vented from the evaporator behind the freezer. Once every 24 hours the defrost timer, stops the compressor and applies power to a heater at the freezer evaporator coils. The defrosted water drips and runs to a drain normally into a metal tray on the compressor where it evaporates. On my GE fridge freezer there is a hose and a small p-trap at the rear. Easy to remove, soak in bleach and hot water and then flush through. Help for Samsung drains in the link.

Samsung why does my ice maker spit out water before the ice? Water dispenser also seems to have a slow leak.

First, I'm not a Samsung representative.

*** The following is for information only.***
* The symptom of melted ice and water dripping from tray is usually caused by several things;
* Most common is ice build up in freezer coils. This happens every time the door is opened. Ice builds up on coils but is normally removed during a daily defrost cycle.
* The cycle may be unable to defrost all ice due to bad air circulation. Usually caused by rubbish blocking fan intake (bottom of freezer tray or wall.) Overloading food may cover the intake.
* Remove all food from freezer. Check for fan blockage. There should be a steady flow of cold air. If not then your freezer needs to be defrosted.
* Defrost by moving all frozen food to fridge side or cooler. Unplug fridge and open freezer door (drawer). Allow room air to circulate into the freezer. Use a house fan to blow air into freezer. (DO NOT use Hair dryer! It will damage panels.)
* Check and remove melted ice water. Check inner panels of freezer. Once defrosted the panels will be room temperature to the touch. There should not be any condensation or coldness to the panel. If it's still cold then keep defrosting.
* Once the water stops dripping. then close freezer doors.
* plug in freezer and wait 5 mins. Check freezer if inside is cold and the air is blowing cold. Reload freezer with food, take care not to overload or cover fan intake. Monitor for 2 days.

My samsung rs20br has ice build up on the floor of the freezer, under the bottom drawer. I defrosted it but it has come back . How can i fix this?

Believe it or not your freezer has a heater that defrost your freezer. It runs on a cycle to keep the ice from building up. Your freezer may be set to cold or the heater isn't working properly.

My bottom freezer samsung freezes over coils and will not maintain freezer temp consistently. Upper works fine. Replaced control board, 3 sensors in freezer.

would check ur defrost terminator and defrost timer. should not have replaced control board so quickly. may even just have abad thermistor/ but I suspect ur defrost terminator is the problem and its rather inexpensive and easy to replace

Why is ice forming under the bottom drawer of my Samsung American fridge freezer Rsa1shpn and then water eventually leaking out the door? I have defrosted the fridge freezer but still have the problem

There is a drain tube located under the panel of most freezers. If that clogs up, the auto defrost can't work. The freezer defrosts by evaporating all the moisture out of the compartment. So, check that first. Secondly, a leaky door seal can also cause that problem. You can order door seals online or on Amazon.

We have a samsung fridge with bottom freezer the freezer is humming and when you open the door it stops and the temperture is rising when you shut the door the humming starts back in a few seconds

defrost issue , not sure on how to jump the board to force defrost but more than likely the defrost thermostat is bad . this is on the evap in freezer . the noise come from frost building up around the evap fan

We have a samsung rf266abbp and the freezer is ultra frosty. this just started this week. the unit is about 1 year old. does it need to be defrosted. if so, how?

Hi, if freezer is icing up, you might have a defrost problem. Frost free models have a heating element that is controlled by a timer to automatically defrost ice, defrost timer turns on defrost heating element every 12 hours to melt ice in freezer and allow good air flow.
You can test defrost element with an ohm meter(located inside freezer coils-will have two wires going to a plug connection), if OK replace defrost timer (located in various places depending on make and model)

Take care
