Volume on TV or receiver or the volume slider within the video?. It seems of one of these does not work you can use one of the others.

There is probably grease or dirt on the contacts inside the unit. Here's a video that shows you how to fix it:

Taking a movie will ALWAYS record sound regardless. When playback the video, have you raised the volume? Press the up button a couple of times and you will see a volume thing get more yellow digital lights.

To adjust the speaker volume during playback, slide the speaker volume control towards + (plus - right) to turn up the volume, or towards - (minus - left) to turn the volume down.
The speaker volume control is the same as the ZOOM lever on the top of the camera.

First you press func. set on the video you want to turn up the volume on. When the movie starts press the func. set again and push the up button for the selected volume.

On this model it has a preset volume when it comes on. To change the preset volume press and hold the volume button on the reciever you will hear a beep or 2 and poof its done.

In the settings, you should have a start up volume.

just change this to what ever volume you would like it to start up on.

you can try to turn the volume up on the laptop itself or in the video program itself. If you haven't already double click on the speaker icon in your tray and make sure the appropriate volume is turned up

I have the same camera that my parents bought me for my birthday this year. I noticed that there was no audio for videos so I looked around to see if you could turn it on in settings. I noticed that there was a silent mode option so I turned that off. I tried to do a video again and there still was no audio. So I looked around and pressed so many buttons until i found the volume option (I don't remember how I got there I'm still trying to figure out again) I turned the volume all the way down because I was concerned about the beeping of the camera. But then after I found out that you could turn off the beep, I tryed to look for the volume button, and I couldn't find it. I was wondering if anyone knows how to get back to that volume button.
