This fault is within the control head, under the detergent valve is a small spring loaded valve that acts to induce the detergent, this will have failed, the shaft of the component breaks off the disk base leaving a small hole in the centre of the disk. This is enough to allow pressure past the component. The machine will pulse when operated and will not induce the detergent. I've looked everywhere to find this part as I have a karcher with the same fault.
It sounds like you have the vario lance set to low pressure or "mix". If you twist the end of the lance you can increase and decrease the pressure. The setting you have it on is for when you are applying detergent through the pressure washer hence why it is a wider low pressure jet.
Hello Sue, you don't say where in the world you live, but if you are attempting to clean dirt and algae off pavers, you need to add a solution to the water jet via the inbuilt attachment. Mix a fairly mild solution of bleach and detergent, pus a dash or deodoriser to the cantainer. Put your karcher on low pressure and give all the blocks a good wetting. Do this in the morning so the solution doesn't dry. After 20 ~30 mins, Claen off with the Karcher on normal high pressure (not the tubo lance). HINT: Leave the trigger on all the time and don't stop and start using it. This will prevent hayraulic hammer which can split the pump head.
you have to lower the pressure at the lance for the detergent to be drawn into the hose. It works on a venturi principle. on the lance you will have to twist or pull back the end for it to go into low pressure mode.
the easiest way to check it is working is to take out the lance extension , the bit that fits into the trigger on a bayonet fitting. run the machine and see if it then draws in detergent.
If it doesnt draw detergent then look to see if there is a detergent valve fitted to the filter that goes into the bottle and check that it is fully open. sometimes ther is a non return valve fitted into the filter too. it could be that this non return valve has stuck. A poke with a bit of stiff wire should free it off its seat if it is that problem.
The first thing to do is check the nozzle setting on your spray lance. The nozzle setting is adjustable (by twisting it) and, if it's set to high pressure, cleaning fluid will not be drawn up from the reservoir. Cleaning fluid will only be drawn from the reservoir when the nozzle is set at low pressure. (Even at the low pressure setting, this problem can occur if you use an extension high-pressure hose.)
You say the machine has never been used, so the nozzle setting is the most likely cause of your problem. Other possible causes are highly unlikely to occur in a new machine. If adjusting the nozzle doesn't help, I suggest you contact the dealer from whom you bought the machine.
I hope this helps. Your feedback is valuable to me so please remember to rate this response.
Hi I have a karcher 3.99 the motor comes on and water comes out however thre is no pressure i have tested the lance on my brothers washer and this is ok what is wrong
Hi hope i can help!!
Try this empty the detergent tank then have your machine ready to work then half fill the tank with warm water and use the machine, this may take a few attempts so dont think its a 5 min fix! What happends is the detergent when left in the machine goes thick and gooy the warm water thins this and eventualy cleans it out but dont use boiling hot water this may damage the seals.before storing machine away do this method.
Hope this helps .Sean
Can I use the detergent tank with either lance
