Life gear exercise bike

My life gear advantage spin bike needs adjustment or repair parts since on the downward stroke of the peddles the arms seem to catch at the bottom of the stroke. I can't find a repair manual to see if I need the flywheel center bearing and "drawn cup roller" or if the problem is in the crank bearings or simply a tension adjustment on the grooved belt. Thanks. Jim

This bike looks to be of the Lemond Revmaster series.

first, dial the resistance knob back until the leather break pad is no longer touching the flywheel. Get down on the floor and postion yourself between the flywheel and pedal cranks. Slowly turn the cranks arms and listen and feel for a roughness in the bike.

This has bike has bearings and a belt. It should not make any noise.

Now with the right pedal at a 2:00 position tighten the resistance knob down all the way so the flywheel will not turn. Then get on and push very hard on the right pedal. If the belt is loose, the pedal will move. Austin Fitness Rentals Rent Commercial grade Fitness Equipment in... ">

Testimonial: "There is a slight bearing noise but I have replaced both outer bearings in the fly wheel. Your solution has definitely eliminated the majority of the problem. I feel the belt is not original since the set screw which increases tension is not long enough to apply the tension needed to stop the petal. I put a longer one in and it seems to allow me to stop the belt slippage."

My diamondback 910ic exercise bike pedal crank arms misaligned

You will need to remove the shrouds on wither side of the Exercise bike. You will see on each crank, or at least one of them, there is a cotter pin with a bolt The cotter pin needs removing and you will be able to turn that pedal arm to 180' to the other one. Spare parts appear to be obsolete, but you should get parts for the crank arm from a good cycle shop. Very often the cotter pin needs to be filed to fit. Tightening the nut locks it in place. There are two videos, the second one refers to cycles which is where my experience comes from.

How to remove crank on tunturi exercise bike.

The bolt at the crank arm needs to first be loosened using an adjustable wrench in order to remove the crank on a Tunturi exercise bike. Pull the crank arm away from the bike after the bolt has been released. If this doesn't work and you hear a clicking noise, it may be necessary to either tighten the crank arm further or service the crank bearings. It is preferable to take the bike to a bike shop in this situation so that it may be serviced.

I think I may be in the wrong place!

whilst pedaling, at the top of the pedal stroke, the knee should be positioned behind the axle of the pedal. This is so that as the pedal descends, the knee is not exerting damaging forces on the ligaments/joint. Force application should lead the pedal to go downwards without going hehind the position of the knee. This can lead to tendonitis should it happen for extended periods.
The position on many exercise cycles is wrong from what I have seen. I use a road/racing bike on rollers and that is how it is set up
I used to ride in a bad position and it did me a bad turn

To get max power the leg should be nearly....but not totally extended at the bottom of the pedal stroke.
