SOURCE: HOW to print ONLY in Black and White when the original is in color

If printing from computer windows base

The all-in-one will reproduce many colors exactly; however, it is normal that some colors may be slightly different in shade or hue. If the colors are more than slightly off though, there is a problem. Review the information below to correct the problem:

  1. Verify that the Color settings have not been changed by following the steps below:
    1. In the software program you are printing from, click File and then click Print .
    2. Click the option to change the print properties (usually Properties or Settings ).
    3. Select the Color tab.
      • Print in Grayscale should not be selected unless you want to print in black and white.
      • The Color Attributes sliders should be centered, in the middle of the setting.
      • The Color Space setting should be set to sRGB/sYCC
If printing from Mac

  1. Verify that there is paper loaded in the input tray.
  2. Open a document in the software application in which it was created.
  3. Click File and then choose Page Setup .
  4. Select the HP All-in-One as the printer.
  5. Choose the paper size.
  6. Select the paper orientation.
  7. Enter the scaling percentage.
  8. Click OK .
  9. Click File and then choose Print .
  10. On the Copies & Pages panel in the Print dialog box, change the print settings for each option in the pop-up menu, if necessary. if no option to change color when you click on the bar check if you have color management: then change from color to B and W.
  11. Click Print.

** and chances if you are printng from computer might not have an option to print draft B and W, just check for quality.

Hope this helps, if it does pls dnt 4get to rate solution, thanks!!

To get back online of your printer, go to Control Panel and Select Printer & Faxes then OPEN.
A list of Printer is on the browser, point the printer with your mouse then right click on your Printer HP OfficeJet to select Printer Offline and click it to go back Printer Online. Good luck!

SOURCE: HP OfficeJet 6110 Prints very slow then aborts about 1/3rd way through print

I identified this issue with my Officejet 6110xi All-in-One as firmware corruption. Attempting to install the supplied firmware update gave the error that "no hp device connected to the computer would benefit from it at this time." Attempted to power down the printer using #9 keystroke and got "FULL RESET" message, but problem of extremely slow printing and erratic behavior of the print heads persisted. I solved the problem by putting the printer outside in cold weather for two (2) days. This frequently resets firmwares with software corruption back to their embedded EEPROM state. Hooked the printer back up and worked fine. If cold weather is not available you could try other creative methods of cooling the device, just use a plastic bag and with ideally some drying packets thrown in to prevent excessive moisture buildup in the cold environment. The colder it is the faster the firmware resets.

SOURCE: how to check if the ink is ran out from hp

If you have full installed HP program that came with Printer then you can find Ink Level using HPTool Box utility.

another way is find out is that if your prints are comming light then its time to refill or buy new toner.

Third way is to judge by Toner weight. if low weight means also there is low ink.

My HP 4300 all in one printing reduced size of original document

Have you tried checking on the page, that when you select print, it shows how many pages you want, portrait or landscape, on this page it should also have the proper ratio to print, ie.,100% vs.say 75%. Check to see if it's still at 100%, it's possible that it reduced size to fit a page and didn't change back

When I click the print button, a fax window pops up, and it will only let me fax, and not print

In Windows Xp
Click on start and click on control panel
in control panel look at the top left and switch to classic view(unless your already in it,if ur in it then u'll see a lot of icons and not groups)double click the printers and faxes folder.
now look at the tow icons of your printer and one will say officejet 4300 series and one will say 4300 series fax.
right click the 4300 series and select set as default.
Now click on print if you still get the fax window select your printer icon in the drop down list and then the fax window will not popup.

IN VISTA
-------------
Click on the start button and in the start search box type "printers" and press the enter button.
In the printers window single left click the printer icon(4300 series, not 4300 series fax)
Then single right click the 4300 series icon and select set as default.
now close the window and try to print if u still get the fax popup then selet your printer icon in the drop down menu and it will print and not fax
