I have scotts precision flow model PF1. What setting do I use for weed and feed application?

Here are the steps:

1. Set Micrometer. Turn micrometer until "8" is centered in window.
2. Position Spreader. Stand the spreader on its handle with the Scotts logo facing away from you. ...

How To Calibrate Scotts EdgeGuard Spreader

It depends on the size of the granules. I've seen some that are small and some that are large. Setting to get the rate right depends on that. If you could provide the brand of weed and feed, we might be able to look it up.

My Scotts Deluxe Edgeguard has broken. The cable that pulls the fertilizer feed door open (when you sqeeze the lever) has sheared off where the cable meets the body. Is there some way to obtain the part(s) I need? What about a repair manual so I can figure out what part(s) are required?

Hi,
The best way is to just place a small amount... like 5 lb in the hopper...start with it barely open and see how far you get,,, then compute from there what you need...
The settings they give you are guesamates at best and are often set to place too much... why not??? they are selling you a product!!

The recommended settings for your type of spreader should be listed on the package of the bag of weed and feed you have. There should be a rate chart on the bag. If not, put the setting on your unit on the middle setting, that way, you are not using too little and not using too much.
