I had two errors: a1-4111 and a1-4112. I replaced both motors, but still same error. After close inspection I noticed an electromagentic coil that sometimes activates and sometimes doesnt. After helping it right before printing, I noticed that the errors never came back. I took it off the printer and noticed a little sponge affixed to a metal moveable "door" that had a spring attached to the bottom. That sponge compresses over time and moves that metal piece away from electromagnet hence its not able to pull it in to allow the spindle to rotate. I built up that sponge with some sticky paper to bring the metal closer to the magnet and voila...printer fixed.
Where do I find this "metal moveable door?
After poking around for a few hours, I found the "door". I would call it more of a hinge, but anyhow It it is located behind the right hand cover. Located in the upper left corner of the printer. Just above the motor. I applied a few layers of tape and superglued them onto where the compressed sponge was. It fixed it up.
do mind taking a pic of this, thank you.
Edit: I had the same error (constant a1-4111 and a2-4112 after one page) as the previous posters but not the same symptoms inside the printer. Weirdly, running the printer without the right hand side cover seemed to improve things for a while, but didn't provide a long term fix.
It absolutely fixed my printer!! Takeoff the right sie panel, and in the top lefr corner there is a coil thing acting on one of the plastic gears. You need To bring the metal flap closer To the coil, by adding some thick tape etc To the edge where it rests on in idle mode.
Thanks a lot! I noticed that solenoid wasn't working properly, and I was giving a little push manually. But it didn't cross my mind that all it was needed is just to extend/raise that tiny foam cushion. I just glued tiny piece of foam tape right on top of the old one (used my wife's nail glue) and it works just fine now. I fill like to hug you. Thank you.
It is early days but this seems to have solved the A1-4111 errors on my Samsung CLX-4195FW as well. I super-glued a bit of plastic (I cut off the top of a yogurt pot!) over the foam on the metal flap. Before I did this you could see the foam had been compressed over time and this was clearly causing it to be too far from the solenoid for it to work.
I have printed a few documents and not had any errors whereas previously it was erroring on every job, restarting the printer would sometimes get it to print but mostly not.
Also, before I fixed this, the printer had a habit of printing documents using only the black toner. I don't mean greyscale either, it just printed the black elements on the page and not the other colours. This means that red text would be entirely missing on the page and other colours would be missing or faint grey where a small quantity of black would have been needed to make up the desired colour. If I printed the document a second time it usually worked in colour. This definitely wasn't a driver issue either as it used to happen with colour photocopies and even the test page sent from the printer touch screen. Not sure if anyone else has this but it seems to be fixed now following the advice above!
Hi, I have exactly the same problem. Can you give me a hind where I Can find this solenoid or the sponge mentioned. Is it the one close to the power switch?
Hi. I am new to Fixya. I think this will solve my problem but the image is too small to read. is there a way to get a larger version of the image. Thanks
same problem and can't find a way to read the text on your picture. please please please post a higher definition picture
Brillant advice, solved the problem. Have tried uploading a photo of the culprit, but can't seem to upload..

Just as you said, it worked like magic!

Hi, it's Actuator Motor Error, check and ensure that all orange plastic cover has removed from the toners. If cover has been removed, probably you need to check the solenoid on the top after you have remove the right side cover. If still persist, you need to replace the main board.
