Dacor epicure electric oven

Yesterday we ckeaned the iven. Now the oven heats very slowly and doesn't get out of the preheat mode and does not heat over 200 degrees. We have tried shuting off the electric and back on again. What might be the problem? [email protected]

I had the same problem, we cleaned our Dacor oven and afterwards the heating element stopped working (all other lights, fans seemed to be functioning fine).

Called the Dacor repair guy, he turned off the power, pulled off the top cover (six screws visible when over door is open) and pushed down a little red button located in a switch at just about the center of the top of the oven.

Oven now works fine, and he told me that this problem occurs off and on and there is no known fix which is why he showed me how to solve the problem next time. Oh, that knowledge transfer did cost me $61 for his 5 minute repair.

On my Dacor oven whenever I use the self cleaning feature it trips the breaker and the oven doesn't heat up. It can be reset, but you need to take off the front panel and reach way back for the red reset button.

My dacor oven model ECS130SBK is very slow to heat. Sometimes reaching the desired temp. after a long wait. Sometimes it never gets there.

I found the bottom element was not getting any power by using a volt/ohmmeter and a test method described elsewhere. (Shut off power, hold down COOK TIME while turning on power. then within 30 seconds press each mode you want to test and only that element/fan/etc will turn on. Cancels by itself after 30 sec.)

I traced the wire back to the relay (wire checked good) and there was no power getting through the relay although it clicked. Removed the relay board to replace it and found a cold solder joint on the "out" terminal with obvious past arcing carbon. Cleaned and soldered the pin and the oven now works normally.
WHY THE SLOW TO HEAT? The oven turns on all the elements to preheat faster and when it reaches your set temp it beeps and now only turns on the element you selected to maintain the temperature. (Bake or Convection) Our malfunctioning ovens would then cool since the element is not working properly and it must go back into preheat and keep cycling.
BY THE WAY- Don't ever use 4 hours on self clean it kills the boards and/or display. I also put a house fan in front of the oven and blow it into the lower grill to take away some of the heat on the two boards. Learned the hard way!

Bottom oven of dacor double oven

I found the lower circuit breaker had been tripped. That didn't fix the problem but upon further inspection whoever had worked on the unit years ago had dropped a screwdriver that had lodged between the oven wall and the rear casing and shorted out the lower heating element. I removed the screwdriver and oven works fine now. I don't think that will solve the cmmclow problem but maybee the curcuit breaker is tripped.
