Yes this is a heater fault detection error. The unit may not be heating the water resulting in unsanitary dishes so the unit shuts down in this fault. Also the door may not have completely shut resulting in the heater not working, but everything else does (the heater common line is broken at the door switch. Clear the fault by entering diagnostics with this key dance heated dry, normal, heated dry, normal. All the leds will light, you can then press cancel and try another wash cycle. If fault occurs again, you must repair heater problem.

reset the dishwasher by touching heated dry and normal let it run through that cycle then through a normal cycle got the error blink again. Reset dishwasher by touching heated dry and normal, ran the test cycle, next ran a normal cycle but turned off the heated dry. This allowed the dishwasher to run through a complete cycle did not get the error blink and confirmed that the heating element was out.

Solution #3 is good, but you need to hit "High Temp Wash" and then "Heated Dry" back and forth 3x to reset the computer.
SOURCE: Blinking Clean light in Whirpool dishwasher
Control is programmed to stop
running and not allow any
further cycles if it detects a
water heating problem (no
temperature increase detected
in heated Main Wash on
3 consecutive cycles). Control
blinks the Clean LED 7 times
repeatedly and disables the
Start/Resume key until
cleared.
Running Diagnostics clears the
control and allows it to operate
again. The water heating problem
must be fixed or the control will
stop running again. See potential
causes below.
Heater circuit problem:
■ Open in heater.
■ Open connection or
component in heater circuit.
■ Faulty heater drive circuit on
control.
1. Check operation of heater in
Diagnostics cycle.
2. Unplug dishwasher or disconnect
power.
3. Check resistance of heater and all
components and connections in the
water heating circuit or heat dry
circuit.

SOURCE: My dishwasher clean light is blinking 7 times & not clean
Hi
Thanks
for using FixYa. If the clean light flashes 7 times, pauses, then repeats...
When the dishwasher doesn't sense a water temperature increase, it stops
working and locks the functions (clean light flashes 7 times, all buttons are
non responsive). It does this as a safety in case the element is broken and
feeding electrical current into the water.
To resolve this you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door
and press these buttons in sequence...
-high temp wash
-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry
...all the lights will turn on briefly and the machine will start a diagnostic
cycle. You can press cancel or let the diagnostic cyle finish (1-2
minutes).
You should now be able to run the dishwasher as normal.
If the issue returns, you could have a problem with the heating circuit (ie.
element, thermostat or wiring).
It rarely happens but it could also be the door switch not engaging properly
when the door is closed (slightly bend the door latch down making sure it
doesn't hit the door when you close it).
Please
do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.
Thanks
