Just leave that concrete block there, it is to prevent your tub from taking off skywards.

SOURCE: Not finishing the wash cycle

I have now solved the problem with our WFxxx washing machine. I was moments away from doing the same (dumping it and buying a new machine), but thought I would take the back off and look to see if I could find anything obvious first.
I am not very technically minded so I was well pleased with myself when I fixed the problem and saved myself a small fortune on a new washer. I was also amazed that it was something really simple that nearly cost me loads of money. The problem cost me nothing to repair but I got a bit wet (a small price to pay).

The problem was caused by a blockage in the sump Assembly.
I removed the small cover plate at the bottom of the back cover (held on by just 2 screws). This gives access to the drain pump and sump assembly. Using a flat bladed screw driver I removed the hose clip securing the sump assembly to the main drum outlet. I also removed the clips securing the sump assembly to the drain pump and the clip securing the pressure sensor sender tube to the sump assembly.
All clips removed I then removed the sump assembly from the main drum. At this point a got a good soaking as trapped water gushed from the main drum outlet!!
Inside the sump I found about £2 in loose change and several paper tissues. (Someone's not emptying their packets before doing the laundry!!!). This blockage was preventing the water from draining away from the drum effectively.
After removing the coins and the rest of the gunge that was causing the blockage (not a very pleasant job and a bit smelly!!), I washed out the sump Assembly in hot soapy water and re-assembled the whole thing. The machine has worked perfectly ever since. The whole repair process took me about 40 minutes and saved me a fortune!

Sump Assembly complete with small-bore pressure switch tube. (Below)

Why did the blocked sump assembly effect the wash cycle?

As I said earlier, I am not technically minded so this is simply my theory of what went wrong.
When the washing machine is draining, water entering the sump is forced up the small bore tube to a Pressure Switch. While there is water pressure pressing against this Pressure Switch, the machine knows that there is still water in the main drum and will not move on to its next part of the wash cycle until the water pressure on this switch is released. Because of the blockage in the sump, the pressure was not released from the pressure switch causing the wash cycle to come to a stand still.

I hope this helps other people experiencing a similar problem with the WFxxx models. A very easy fault to fix (once I discovered what was causing it) and It's certainly cheaper than buying a new machine!

SOURCE: washing machine stops mid cycle and lights start flashing

Drain the water by lowering the hose into a bucket or something and then try it on spin, if it spins o/k then you probably have blocked pump or filter.
The filter is located in the large black hose that is fastened to the bottom of the drum, remove and clean.
Hopefully this will solve the problem.
Plz rate this solution.
Thanks.

SOURCE: Hotpoint WMA 22 drum not turning

Hi, common problem with this make of machine but easy to repair. Take off the lid and make sure it is un plugged from the mains...... You will need a pair of hook nose pliers to remove the carbon brushes from each side of the motor. They should be an inch long if not there is your problem.. Just replace and it will run.
Let me know how you get on..........

Yes, I work for GE what you need to do is to resent the appliance. Something should had happened with the computer of the washer. Just unplugged the machine for 40 seconds. You can unplugged or turn off the circuit breaker for 40 second and plugged back in. Select a normal cycle and let it run.

Why does all my lights flash in sequence on my Tricity Bendix washing machine

That actually looks like a normal system self test procedure the machine runs through in order to check everything is ok before the cycle commences. If however the machine was to stop part way through a cycle and display a sequence of different lights that sequence would indicate to the repairer what the computer determined to be the fault.

After about 10 minutes into a cycle my machine stops and green lights and red start button start flashing. There is water still in the drum but when I change the cycle to either spin or drain after a while...

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Sorry but I do not know your particular machine BUT I would suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters. The motor is unable to drain all of the water in the allotted time.
Here are my complete, general pre-typed guidance notes for checking filters and motors ;-0)
-------------------------------------
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and held in by a round cover/knob.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!

It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!

WMA 54 Hotpoint Aquarius washing machine lights flashing

the problem here is the machine is not emptying when its supposed to, you will find it is stopping at the rinse cycles. there is a sump underneath the machine that needs to be emptied. From my experiences, 9 out of 10 hotpoints that i would of repaired with the same problem as you are having is usualy caused by using the color catcher sheets, they are a disaster.

Hot point wf541. have top 2 lights on wont pump

Hi.
The sequence of flashing lights is in fact indicating an error condition on your m/c.
It indicates that the m/c has failed to drain, possibly because the pump filter is blocked.
Your m/c is fitted with a filter system for the pump,
The filter may have become blocked, see care and maintenance in your handbook, in your handbook for details on how to check and clean the filter.
Also make sure the door is shut properly.
If after you have checked all these points, and it still does not work properly, then I suggest you have someone to look at the m/c, or replace the pump if it does not appear to be working.
Hope this helps.
Please leave feedback.
thanks.

EQUATOR 3612CEE WASHER DRYER/NOT DRYING

First of all you may want to reset the unit, let me know if you need the procedure and after reseting if the unit the washer knob may go round and round all by itself, if this happens the door mode light will flicker in a particular sequence which once once counted we can understand exactly which part in the machine has malfunctioned which once replaced the unit should start to work properly.
