My sylvania flat screen tv is flipping from gray to pink and several other color screens with no response to any buttons on the remote or tv! What happened and what can I do to fix it?

Better late than never. The problem is that your TV is in the service mode. There are many ways this can happen. But, lets just get down to fixin this! With the original remote and the TV on. If the TV will not shut off, do this. Press the left cursor button on the remote, followed with pressing the right cursor. Power off the TV with remote, or press off button on TV.

Secondly, your TV will power on and off. But you have flashing colors. Do this. With the original remote and TV on. Press the up cursor button, on the remote, followed with pressing the down cursor. Sounds like T'Con board fault. Contact any service technician to make it confirm. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" or "Magazine" will make surf easy. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. Do a search by type in the brand name of your device at its search box.

Hi, My guess is your daughter messed it up. Go to menu and color and reset to default should fix it.
You may have to adjust color for your best viewing. Good luck.

I found the solution on mine. To restate, I just saw a thin white border around a black screen. Pressing the channel up or down buttons changed the screen, in some kind of test mode to shades of gray, and red, green, and blue. I started finding a solution when I noticed when on one of the color screens, that the volume up or down buttons brought up a new menu for color intensity. Finally, I got back to the thin white border screen and pressed the arrow keys in the top half of the remote. Finally a TV screen and I pressed the enter key! Voila!
