This is preset and cannot be altered.. Do ensure you preheat the milk frother before use.. by activating the "clean" button on the frother jug

SOURCE: descaling a delonghi magnifica ESAm04

I had this problem too. The instruction manual says to turn the steam knob only half way counter-clockwise after pressing the button for 5 seconds, but you need to turn it ALL the way to have the procedure start (at least, that was the solution with my machine). Good luck!

SOURCE: how to replace Delonghi magnifica

ha this is the same problem i had just last week at a customers house with the same machine , the knob does pull off but it is hellish tight and you feel like the valve is about to burst through the front of the machine but it does pull off, when fitting the new knob it is a good idea to put some grease over the shaft before pushing the new knob on as it's nearly as hard pushing the new one back on as taking the old one off.

SOURCE: delonghi magnifica esam 4200 lost bar pressure for frothing milk

The most possible problem is that the machine have build up scale both in boiler and in pipe system. Your are still in good chance to solve it easily since it operates normal by performing a good descaling of the machine. You can buy a very good product posibly from ebay like the Urnex DEZCAL which is an excelent descaler and if you perform a couple of descling procedures in a period of one week your machine will perfom better and better.

My Delongi Magnifica Esam 3500 makes coffee and water runs from spout no problem but after coffee brew a load banging /clucking noise is heard. Any idea what it could be?

This particular machine ends up on Fixya 2 or 3 times a week. They are not reliable. 'Banging' my mean it needs descaling, the limescale make the water explode when heated on a limed element. Take it in for service or try descaling first.

MAGNIFICA ESAM 3500, no water coming through making the pumping noise but no water. the coffee mill seems to be fully extendend and leaning to the right and won't retract. Please help

Is it the electrical part? Are the lights on?

If the lights are on then it is probably the flow of water. Hard water will stop it from working. Sometimes there is a blockage.

You can try to put CLR or vinegar through the machine. You may even want to find someone with an air compressor. If you blow air from the "out spot" it can clear a blockage. If is difficult to tell without having it on front of me.

Sometimes the heating element can be burnt out or a wire is burnt off. Examine the wiring on the inside for any burnt wires.

Magnifica ESAM 3500 milk temperature low

This is factory preset and cannot be altered. You do need to use the "clean" function on the milk frother unit to ensure the boiler and pipes heat up enough also.
