Faint area down left side of page

Okidata c3200n

I'm having the same problem. Just replaced the black image drum and toner, and since then it prints with faded areas down the print the length of the page.

I cleaned the lens'

What I'm trying to print has a green grass background. The faded green areas look blueish....so it seems my problem might be with yellow?

Any ideas?
Thanks

When you say "Cleaned the lens" I presume you mean the four LED print heads. Use a spirit to clean them with if the toner dust is hard to remove. I usually just use a finger and wipe the entire length. Make sure there is no foreign item laying on the drum top where the black plastic film is as the led head may not seat properly on it. Clean all the silver high voltage springs down the left side of the printer. They make contact with the drums. If you still have a problem then try printing solid colour blocks ie Yellow, Magenta ,Cyan and Black . This will identify which colour is giving the problem . Change that drum and all should be well.

SOURCE: Faded print on left hand side of paper

This type of printing defect is normally caused by 1 of a few problems - the easier one first:

1. Toner cartridges sometimes do not have the toner evenly distributed - close the toner cartridge and inspect the hopper right below it for even distribution of toner.

The harder ones:

2. This type of defect can also be caused by dirty charging section - for the drum to pick up the toner it must be charged electrically prior to exposure - if the charge grid is not clean then it will not give the drum an even charge - not sure were this is in this printer yet - looks like it comes as part of the drum kit so this should not be causing this issue.

3. The last and most difficult to check is paper alignment with the drum - is the paper contacting the drum evenly - look for possible problems in the paper path with the drum unit removed - look for something uneven around the area were the paper contacts the drum

SOURCE: Oki C5800 prints magenta streaks

Streaks can be caused by a number of things
The fuser
The ETB
The toner cartridge
The firmware
The printer needs a cleaning.
The slot in the printer.
Incorrect Media.

Try cleaning the printer, use a lint-free cloth for the ETB, DO NOT touch the belt with your fingers, the oil from fingers will often make things worse.
Always use a lint-free cloth, if you ever encounter dirt inside the printer, dampen the cloth.

Calibrate the printer.
From the printer's control panel menu
Configure Device-> Print Quality-> Calibrate now.
(Press the Checkmark key to advance through menus)

SOURCE: Can I reset the drum units on the Okidata c5100, first time reset

Drum units are different than toner. Drums are expensive but need to be replaced between 30,000-40,000 impresions

It would help if you said where the paper jam was. However the fact that it was ok until you cleared the jam indicates you have knocked something out of place. Its just possible one of the high voltage contact springs that touch the drums has stuck in and no longer makes contacts with one of the drums. Make sure all the semi circular springs move in and out freely. Also check the led heads in the top cover. Make sure all the cables are seated in the heads ok. Make sure all the heads are in the same position and one has not turned around. Retrace your steps as your drums seem to be problem.

Try cleaning the black bars on the bottom of the top cover. These are the LED's, which put the image on the drums.
