How do we remove an extension from a hunt group in a Norstar Meridian M7316 telephone?

I am by far not a telco person, but I have been asked to have a Meridian 7316 phone to stop ringing on every incoming call. Obviously its in a hunt group...but which one, and how do I remove it?

I don't really know how much more detail I can give. We have 8 incoming lines, and if the incoming call does not know the extension it rings on a 1/2 dozen phones....one of which we do dot want/need to ring.. So I guess what I am looking for is step-by-step instructions to stop a phone from ringing.

I have tried the instructions suggested, but get stalled at : "Press the next key 6 times (bottom right arrow) . The display should say System Prgrming."...because it does not display what is in the instructions ....

Hi Marty,
Don't worry about counting your way through. Just log into the system, and you will see Terminals and Sets. Press next until you see System Programming, then press Show. Next until you see Hunt Groups, and press show. You can pick the hunt group you're changing and delete the extension from there.

If you're not seeing what we tell you you should see, double check the model of your phone.

My Extension Line Keeps flashing NEC DT400

Try 751 as the code. You can also try unplugging the main control box at the end of the workday for 10 minutes and plug it back in. This might remove temporary programming.

Why doesn't one phone in my norstar meridian m7310 phones is not displaying caller id

Either COPY the config settings from a set where it works to those that don't, or on the sets that do not:

F**CONFIG, Terminals&Sets, (enter ext #), ... Telco Features, 1st Display Name: change between Name, Number, or Line.
And remember that some callers (esp Cellphones) do not provide Name info, so if the incoming calls at that extension are mostly from the same #s, it might be normal.

Move a hunt group button to different position on set

Hunt group buttons are just like lines, they occupy to first buttons on the phone. The only way to move a hunt group button is up or down the list of lines. If you want it first, you have to remove all assigned line from the extension to be changed this includes the hunt group. Now come out of programming and go back in to the extension. Add the lines or hunt group in the order you want them. NOTE IF THE LINES ARE TO BE OUT OF ORDER NUMERICALLY, YOU HAVE TO ADD THE ONES THAT ARE IN ORDER AND LEAVE PROGAMMING AND COME BACK IN AGAIN. THIS SETS THE ORDER OF APPEARANCE.

Norstar M7310 getting Not In Service message

This message means that the system does not see a telephone connected to that extension. Check the extension that you are calling to see if it is operational. Check the extension number by using Feature *0 and pressing the intercom button.

Is this service free? After a thunderstorm, our two Meredian 9516 phones will not work. The phone lights up and says extension in use but no dial tone, just a busy signal. Does the phone need to be...

Extension in use means there is not enough battery showing on the line. On our Nortel phone, unplugging the line cord gets the same result (actually check tel line because it's no voltage). Take a phone out to the demarc point outside and plug it into the jack there. If you don't have dial tone, report it to the telco. If you do, then you have an inside wiring problem.

How do i program my nt8b20af-03 with an extension number?

If you plug the telephone into an activated (connected to the Norstar System) telephone jack, the lights should begin to blink while the phone boots-up. The system automatically assigns an extension number. To see what the ext. # assigned to the phone is, press "Feature * 0" (Button Inquiry) and press an intercom button. This will display the ext, # and Set Name of the phone.
Good Luck!

Call pilot 100 hunt group

Not too sure if you really need that dial 0 point, since the calls are already ringing in on the receptionist desk.

You can create changes and make a hunt group, with an over flow with another hunt group, which will rings specific people, and if there is no answer the over flow can go to a voicemail or auto attendant... more programming than I would like to type.

Simple solution: Make sure that everyone that you want to answer the calls, they are in the same pick up group.

Then if the people that you want to answer hears the phone ringing, they just have to dial Feature 75, this is group pickup.

To find out if the people are in the same pick up group:
-> go into the system programming
-> TERMINALS&SETS and enter the extension
-> find CAPABILITIES and enter
-> hit next till you find Pickup grp: this will have a number and ensure that all the sets you want have this same number.
-> rls to back out of programming.

This way anyone that hears the phone ringing can answer anytime they want.
