Sansung HLM567W. Making a loud clicking and buzzing sound. I thought it was going to blow up. Picture and audio still work. Not the bulb. Samsung support says its the capacitor. Any thoughts?

It sounds like your color wheel. If you are handy at all you can change it pretty easily for the price of the part (probably around $90-$110) and a couple hours of your time. Here is a link to a video showing you the step by step process. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cx4pbNjsxfU good luck..

SOURCE: Samsung HL-P5063W audio is fine, no picture.

Hi,Yes your problem sounds like the DMD board. This is how it works: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/dlp1.htm Basically the light of the lamp goes through a tunnel that carries a color wheel(rotating disc with a gamma of colors that creates the colors on your tv)then the light of the lamp goes through the DMD board which is a chip composed of around 2 million pixels that creates the images and colors. When it starts to fail it will create black bars, pixelation, color distortion or white dots on screens. Here's a video that will help you find where the DMd chip is located : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jr_9A5Xd2Q Have a blessed one!

Loud buzzing sound,

There are a couple of possibilities. There are some styles of TV's which have lightbulbs which project light from the back of the TV. These are big TV's but are not Plasma's.
The bulb will be behind a small square or rectangle door and can be held shut with a screw or several screws. You can get the parts Online. You do not touch the bulb without gloves or a rag. A fingerprint will make a hot spot and destroy a new bulb.

There is no adjustment with a new bulb, so they are plug and play. The buzzing is the bulb arcing. The second possibility is a meltdown in a power transformer or capacitor. The video and audio are 2 separate systems to a certain point and that is why one can work and the other can be bad.

I would do a Web search using your Make and Model and look for bulbs and Consumer complaints.

Samsung Big screen mod. HL-P6163W made load pop, then buzzing sound with screen going to black and white. Make buzzing sound and no picture when turned back on?

This set has a problem with the color wheel falling apart, which if one of the segments should fly off while the set was on it may sound like a loud pop, and the buzzing sound could be mechanical in nature with the wheel being off balance. If smoke appeared after the loud pop, then it could be a capacitor blowing in the power or video circuits. This model uses two different types of Color Wheel assemblies, either an L3 or a L6 and it would be listed on a white label on the Light Engines metal frame. Hope your solution is this easy.

My samsung 42 inch hdtv is making a buzzing noise

First. The whirring or buzzing sound you hear is the Color Wheel and it needs to be replaced. Second, since I do not know when and if the original lamp has been replaced it is a good idea to replaced the lamp. The bad Color Wheel is the one causing the set to shut down.

Set was on and made a loud pop noise and the picture went off. the red light was flashing and no picture. then it made a strange buzzing type of sound a few times. turned off for a couple mins and then...

It sounds like your screen inverter has just gone >bang< unfortunately.
Most screens inside use 2 main circuit boards, and you are most likely going to have to change one of them.
It's possible also for it to have been just the backlight bulb making the loud pop noise too. The inverter may have given out too much power and blown the bulb (a lot like you hear when a house bulb goes bang).

If you can't actually hear any TV sounds (normal sounds like music, voices etc. when they should be there), then it means the problem is more serious, and would need a specialist repair place to check out the electrical circuit inside.

Our Mitsubishi WD52525 52" is making a loud buzzing sound. could this be a fan not functioning? We do not have a picture, but have recently replaced the bulb.

This sounds to me like it could be the color wheel or the ballast of the unit. The bulb is always the first step, but it depends on what kind of buzzing you're hearing. The ballast will usually click to ignite the lamp, while it may also buzz when it's not functioning. The color wheel will also buzz if it gets stuck, or rattle when pieces inside are broken.

My 61" Samsung DLP has loud Buzzing sound - Everything else ok

There are only 2 moving parts on a dlp tv the color wheel and the fan. The color wheel needs to be replaced about every 4 to 5 years. Some start to make noise and others like mine blow up with a bang. Go to utube to get instructions on how to replace it only cost me for part $100 good luck
