what cord do i need to buy? - 8c2d00c5-43f3-4ed2-858e-07c369f57f7c.png

Testimonial: "Bought the camera second hand, and didn't come with this usb cord. If i were to buy it online what would the type of cord be called? (tried researching myself but was confused about the certain types) would a 5 pin mini USB B cable work?"

  • Harrie May 14, 2014

    The plug is called : USB 2.0 Mini Type B Plug (5 Position) I hoop this helps. If you google for USB connector and switch to pictures, you can see what I mean.

SOURCE: I can't seem to send images from my camera via cable or infrared

Simply get a cable that fits. The camera cable should be a standard USB A for the Computer- assuming the computer has USB or is it Sony and fitted with Fire-wire in which you will need an adaptor Fire-wire to USB

Pentax optio w80 driver

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

When I connect my camera through any USB port on my macbook, the transfer process will always begin fine, however the process will not complete. I get a "failed to transfer the image" error message as well...

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

My firelite smartdisk model cord does not fit into my new macbook air. can i buy a cord that has a usb port at one end? thx

The MacBook Air has one USB port. Most computer stores have many different plugs on the other end that will fit your SmartDisk. Most of the SmartDisk units use the mini USB plug. It is the same as many digital cameras use.

Tiger Direct, and MicroCenter also have many different adapters, and adapter kits to use on all kinds of USB devices.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if there are any more questions.

PS: I use a 160GB SmartDisk on all of my Macs, and PCs. Get way to move data without conflicts.

Uploading video from my Cannon Elura 100 to my MacBook

try using the image capture utility when connected to the computer. canons are notorious for forcing you to use image utilities (picture wizard in windows and image capture in macos). my canon xsi did the same thing.

Transferring pictures

Hi,

A couple of things you can try:
1. Insert the Camera's USB cord to another USB port of your PC;
2. While disconnected from the PC, verify that the pictures are still inside the camera's memory;
3. Reset the camera (power on/off);
4. Check the camera's batteries;
5. Reboot your PC with the camera attached via the USB;
6. Remove the memory card from the camera and try uploading using a card reader;
7. Uninstall all instances of your USB in your PC's Device Manager, reboot and allow the PC to auto-detect  and auto-install necessary drivers; and
8. Verify that the software/drivers for your camera are installed correctly with no yellow or red markings.

Hope this be of some help. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
