Why does the phone say restricted when calling the number? I can't get into voicemail either.

You can check your phone records at the end of the month, sometimes providers will "unmask" restricted numbers when they put them on there. You'll have to note the date and time of a call though. Another way to do it is to call up your cellphone provider and ask them how to go about blocking restricted calling. Usually it's a setting on the phone itself, but every phone is different. You can then change your voicemail to say something about you're now blocking restricted numbers, so if they want to get in touch either leave their number in a voicemail so that you can call them, or unblock their number.

Once you call your voicemail service, you'll be taken thru step by step instructions to set up your voicemail.
To call your voicemail service

1. From the Home screen, tap Phone.
2. Touch and hold down 1.

If this does not work, you need to set up your voicemail number. Your subscription includes an answering service, callers can leave a voicemail message when you cannot answer a call. Usually, the voicemail number is saved on the SIM card. If not, contact your service provider to get your voicemail number. You can then enter the number manually.
To enter your voicemail number

1. From the Home screen, tap .
2. Find and tap Settings > Call settings > Voicemail settings.
3. Enter your voicemail number.
4. Tap OK.

try transferring the calls from ur mobile to the voicemail when u r not available....
in call settings u might have an option of forwarding the incoming call after so many particular number of rings... forward the calls to ur voicemail numbers using this and then u ll have the numbers in ur recieved calls list.
this might work but is only a temporary solution

You need to change his Voicemail number. On a Nokia this is fixed by going to your Tools/Settings and selecting Voicemail, and changing the Voicemail number there. You can get your dad's Voicemail number by calling up the customercare. But if you remove your number from the assigned Voicemail number, it should fix your problem.

I am not sure of your carrier, they all have different ways. The absolute way to access your voicemail is to call your own number. Call your number from your phone and it will automatically get you in to your voicemail..

Yes, sort of: go to Settings->Security->Enter lock code here if you've created one(otherwise ignore this step)->Limit Use->Restrict Incoming Calls
