The tachometer or tacho-generator has the function of controlling the electric motor and the speed of the motor (rpm). So, could be electric motor blocked for some reason, worn out carbon brushes, faulty tachometer, wiring and finally electronic.
After 5 years working of washing machine, by my experience the most common reason is worn out the brushes of electric motor.

Your Lincoln has a longer warranty than other manufactuers, something like 4 years and 50,000 or more miles. The rust coverage goes for something like 7 years with unlimited miles. It should not cost to fix this problem.

It can be something simple like a leaf in the blower box or a bad blower motor. The noise can also be an electric vent motor in the ductwork. Sometimes the noise can be excessive and unexpected. One of my cars had 2 sounds I was not used to, an electric vent motor whirling and a heater flap popping on startup. It was normal for my car but annoying when I first bought it. Yours should be a simple fix.

Not sure what year motor ,but if you can find the mate to the motor harness would be the best.You could always get male and female GM weather proff connecters from 1-6 wires from most parts stores.This way you can remove and reintall without cutting and re-splicing.

Have the motor bearings and pump seal replaced at a local electric motor/pump shop. Doing it sooner than later will help prevent more costly damage that could require a new motor.

I would say to replace the motor. The only thing I would suggest is see where you have power and where you do not have power. If it is plugged into the wall outlet then you should have power going everywhere including the motor. If the motor has power and will not start up then replace it. But I would check EVERYTHING out and make ksure that it is the problem and nothing else is the problem
