SOURCE: Fridge ice machine does not work,

Hello,

Check to see whether the ice maker has been turned off. Here's how to check. Look for a wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on. On others, you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the ice maker may not produce any ice. Check your door seals and thermostat, repair/replace as necessary.
Hope this helpout.....

I have an active smart fridge freezer. The freezer seems ok but the fridge has stopped working but it doesent get cold. how can it be fixed. It is only 18 months old.

Check fan in the freezer
Also check auto defrost (ice on the freezer coils anot allowing
air to the fridge.)
If so go to appliance parts store to learn the parts to fix auto defrost.

What does ER FF mean on my Kenmore Elite bottom

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error ff is freezer fan fault. This usually happens when either the rear board has gone bad or the freezer fan itself is bad and needs to be replaced. To check what is causing the error you can start with checking the fan which is located behind the back wall inside the freezer. Also check the rear board as it might not be putting the fridge into defrost long enough and is causing the ice to build up in the freezer and thus stopping the freezer fan from turning and so causing ff error. Leave the fridge unplugged for 24hrs which will melt all the ice then plug it back if still the issue is not resolved and you hear the fan running then it is the rear board that needs to be replaced. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Kenmore bottom freezer control panel error ER FF

it is probably the defrost controller and the board on the back. The code means your freezer fan is not working

Ff and fan noise

Hi,

fixed it. ER FF is "Error Freezer Fan." Once the evaporator fan stops turning for more than 115 seconds, this error message will be displayed. This fridge is poorly designed and is not designed with air gaps or enough air gaps to allow air behind the back panel of the freezer where the fans and condenser coils are located thus causing ice to build up around the fan and it's ability to spin. The evaporator fan helps cirulate the cold air generated by the condenser coils.

The fix is (1) defrost your refrigerator which means you'll loose all your food if you don't have another unit to keep the food in until it's done defrosting or (2) to dismantle the entire freezer by removing all the trays and railing so that you can pull the back panel far enough to get the front end of a hair dryer over the top lip of the panel to melt the ice. My unit had ice build at the top right and left corners behind the panel. I opted for the latter and didn't have to throw any food away.

This is going to be an annual chore if I want to keep this refrigerator. We should all ban together and call for a recall.

Thanks.
