Sounds like the alternator has failed, possibly a short or open in the windings. Similar to problem I had with my 10 KW unit. I replaced the alternator.
If you didn't make backup keys, either call a locksmith or unscrew and replace the entire key switch. If you go with latter solution, keep the original key in a safe place, make backup keys, then use the copied keys as primary in your key ring while the original keys are emergency backup. If you loose your key ring, create more keys with emergency backup (original) key. NEVER use the "original" key as primary, or otherwise the copies made from copied key won't fit right.
Check that the track is on all the rollers properly. If it is a grease adjuster verify that the type of grease is correct. Also check that adjuster is not leaking all the grease back out it may need to be resealed or replaced.
The seals in the track adjuster are shot. This happens when the tracks stretch too much and make the adjuster go past its limit. If it is a rubber track it likely needs replacing. Steel tracks you can usually remove a link, replace the adjuster seals and you should be good to go.
I would go to the manufacturers website and check your model number. I am a plumber and do this frequently for different pumps and other things. Most of the time you can download and print the manual. Just look for literature or manuals.
