Basically coffee is not being ground. Likely causes are grinder is faulty or temperature cut-out for Grinder has blown. Either can be replaced as a spare from Miele. Note: A possible cause for Grinder not working is that the carbon brushes are worn away preventing electrical contact. Unfortunately Miele does not sell brushes as a spare part.

SOURCE: grinder is not grinding. no error message or

SOunds like either the grinder is totally jamed with a small stone ( sometimes found in coffee beans) or the motor has died or the logic control of the motor operation has failed.
If mechanically minded, REMOVE POWER CORD, take all beans out of machine hopper - plug back in and see if you can detect any grinder movement. If not, UNPLUG again and see if you can see anything jammed in between the gringing discs. If so try and remove it even loosen up the amount of the grind as that may free up the jam.

Still no go, then you could test the motor but unless you are ELECTRICALLY competent DON"T ATTEMPT as it may be either a AC or DC motor and it could be running at low or DANGEROUS voltages.

Best to have it serviced if after checking for a jam it still is no go. Better to lose a few dollars than a life by attempting electrical repairs.

SOURCE: CVA 620 My grinder makes faltering

Possible that there is WEARING OFF of the bushes in the shaft of the grinder jar section or to the motor section. If you can try to hold the spindle and move , there must not be any play of the shaft nor it must be TOO free. If so the bushes must be reset with the same type.
Also check if the motor bush/bearings are faulty or a drop of light grease or oil might give a temporary relief.

SOURCE: Fault F 17 appears when in use. Starts grinding

f 17 is no water flow. It usually occurs when the brew unit has not been cleaned regularly, when the coffee grind size is set too fine, or when oily beans are used. You can try to soak the brew unit in hot water for a while, and run water through it in the sink. Unfortunately, most cases require brew unit replacement. A properly cleaned and maintained brew unit should last the life of the machine.

SOURCE: I owe the miele CVA4075

Make sure the hopper is working correctly to see if there are any blockages, then check under the hopper to the opening where the beans go to the grinder. My guess is that there are a few beans and chipped portions of beans which are clogged under there.

Coffee beans grind but water comes out clear. No coffee.

When a grinder is jammed, generally the motor won't be able to spin the burrs to grind the beans. This can happen for a couple of reasons: coffee oils and debris can easily build up in the burrs if they have been left to collect over time.

Our Saeco Vienna Superautomatica sounds like it's grinding beans but keeps running until the red 'bean' light comes on and we have to shut the machine off. Any suggestions?

The grinder is timing out and stops if the beans do not enter the grinder. This happens because:
1- The grinder outlet is clogged and fresh beans cannot pass through the burrs.
2- The grind setting is too fine and helping clogging in the grinding chamber or the ground coffee outlet.
3- Operator may have been using dark roast oily beans. Like it or not, the dark roast oily beans do not make stronger espresso. Please stop using such beans in fully automatic espresso machines.
4- The grinder has already made over 2000 grinds and the burrs are blunted and not grinding beans as needed.
To solve this malfunction, clean the grinder. Make sure the grinder outlet to the doser is cleaned. This outlet passage is about 2 inches or more. To clean it, lay the machine on its back (water tank side) to allow better view of cleaning the doser and the passage of coffee from the grinder to the doser. Use the link below to find instructions for cleaning the grinder and replace the burrs.

Just bought a mazzer super jolly grinder, used it once, the grind was too coarse (#6), adjusted it to a finer grind ((3), and the next time i ran it it stopped grinding, the motor is on, the grinder turns,...

yes, you have to remove the beans inside because there is beans stuck between the burrs. after removing the beans, start doing the finest first before loading the hopper then after putting the beans test the grind as you go courser.

Our bean grinder has stopped grinding. It spins but the beans do not grind. The machine works fine on the ground coffee option.

Did you put water in the grinder by mistake? If the grinder is wet it won't grind anymore, have to cleaned the blades physically .
OR are you using the beans from the fridge? It's a NO NO.

The bean grinder doesnt grind, only water comes out

If it is working before, probably the coffee chute is clogged up. You can remove the bean hopper and see where the coffee drop into the brew unit.If the chute is still attached just clean the blockage, if it is broken you will have to remove the grinder and replaced it.

Coffee will no longer grind.

ONE COMMON PROBLEM IN THIS MACHINES, SINCE THEY ARE MADE IN CHINA, THE QUALITY OF THE BEARINGS DETERIORATE IN ABOUT EXACTLY ONE YEAR. AND THE GRINDER NO LONGER WORKS. THE BEARING BUSHING ITS MADE OF BRASS, AND THE LOAD OF THE COFFEE BEANS OVER KILL THE BEARING. ITS A RIP-OFF....
