How do I remove the battery?

Hey guys I have a Coleman model 5348-700 rechargeable lantern. I have replaced my tube bulbs and it still doesn't work. I am now sure its the battery, even though when I plug it in the red light works. But when I opened the bottom to get the battery out to go to get a new one the battery won't come out at all. it seams to be glued. How do I remove the battery? Should I take it to a camping store maybe?

The bottom panel should either pop out of lift up. They can get a little stuck so you may need to use a screwdriver or similar tool. As long we''re talking about these units, see this link:

SOURCE: AC unit wong start unless I spin the blower

you have 2 windings that are in you motor,One winding is the start winding It give the motor its initial boost that gets the fan spinning. The other winding is the run winding and it takes over and keeps the fan running. So it sounds like the motor is bad because the start winding is not giving the boost it needs to start. good luck--Nate

SOURCE: Coleman rechargeable lantern: Charged overnight -

Check the battery with a volt meter to make sure you have the correct voltage. If not, replace battery. If correct voltage, bypass switch to determine if it is good or not. If not, replace. There really isn't much to go wrong on the lanterns except the bulb or battery.

SOURCE: lantern taken out of 5

I don't like to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like there are no longer replacement batteries available for that lantern. Please see this link for repair parts from coleman. (also possibly here.) There is a customer service number listed at the bottom of that first page that will put you in touch with a Coleman representative, who may be able to suggest an alternative choice for your lantern. Failing that, the only solution I can recommend would be to take the lantern to one of the aftermarket battery suppliers (such as Batterys Plus, etc.) and see if they can provide you with a non OEM version of the battery you need for your lantern to take a charge.
Good luck. I hope you're able to find something.]

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

I am trying to find battery location for Coleman Model 5327A750

William, went to Coleman site, looks like you remove screws on bottom of lantern to access and change battery.
Check the attached links to your manual,

How do I remove the battery?

This is not intended to be a user replaceable battery, although I have found a replacement battery on-line.so that means that SOME people have replaced them. the cost is $9 +s&h. I don't think most camping outfitters would be able to help you with it, But it would be worth a try.

My suggestion would be (if you have one in your area) take it to a Batteries Plus store. They are quite good at replacing batteries that are NOT meant for user replacement.

Best of luck to you.

There are several options to buy replacement batteries for a Coleman rechargeable lantern, model 5348-700. I just picked up two new batteries from www.1000bulbs.com for $4.87 each plus shipping. ($20.99 for 2 with shipping!) Do a Google search for: ub645f1 6 volt - 4.5 ah - f1 terminal battery for other options

Coleman rechargable lantern Model 5327A750. Have not used it in a while have left it on charge for over 24 hours. the night light works but the main light does not go on. Replaced the bulb and still...

just read the charging instructions. Charge for 16-18 hours. If stored for more than 6 months recharge for the full 16 hours. Do not leave the lantern on after the battery has stopped, has overdischarging the battery can cause problems in recharging to a full charge. If this does happen, switch lantern to off and recharge for 40 hours.YES 40 hours. Only the LED is the only light to be used while charging. If you hane the other light on hi or low the battery does not charge.

Hope this helps
