Photosmart 2610 with power on get Error 0x886a6916

The on light is flashing along with the Copy, Scan, Fax and Photo lights. Also, an exclamation light is flashing above the Scan light. An error code is of 0x886a6916 appears on the display.on a Photosmart 2610

0x error codes indicate that the product has an internal error. Try to reset the printer:

1. Without turning off the product, disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the product.
2. Remove the cartridges from the product.
3. Wait for the 'Insert Cartridges ' message to display on the control panel.
4. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
5. Wait 60 seconds.
6. Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button
7. Reinsert the cartridges, and then close any open doors on the product
8. If you receive a prompt to print a calibration page, do so.
9. Reconnect the USB cable to the rear of the product, and then try printing again.

Switched off my 2710 before a thunder storm re pluged it in the next day & now I get a blue screen with a error ox886a6b72 on the printer screen & lights that is the fax,copy,scan,photo, all flash

You might have lost your drivers. Use your install disk and reinstall them. If not go to your owners manual and find out how to reset the printer to factory settings. Sorry, but thats all I have to help you.

My printer copy fax scan and photo card light

Unplug and replug the printer power cable if the issue still persists call in to hp at 1800 474 6836 and ask the representative for an upgrade and go in for either

the photosmart 7280,photosmart

6380 or the photosmart 8180.

You will get it at a 50%

discounted rate.Its called a

refurbished printer but the

actual scenario is that if

wallmart purchases 100

printers and realises they

needed 99 they send one back

to hp and then our factory

test it before sending it out

to the customer but it has

never been used before.
trust me this is the best

option.I work for HP.
call in and hope you get me on

the call.If the printer is in

warranty then hp will try a

couple of troubleshooting

steps and if they dont work

then they will replace the

printer free of cost. Cauz this could be a hardware problem

I have an error code of 0x886a6916 and the copy, fax, scan, and photo lights are flashing.

This is info for the HP C6180, It may help
The product displays an ' 0x ... ' error message. The exact text of these error message varies by product, but it is usually preceded by the word ' Error '. Following are some examples of what the error message might look like on your product:
  1. Without turning off the product, disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the product. NOTE: The USB cable connects to the port on the back of the product. The port is labeled with the USB icon (c01424575.gif ). Figure 1: Example USB connection (your product might not look exactly the same as this example)c01651067.gif
  2. Remove the cartridges from the product.
  3. Wait for the ' Insert Cartridges ' message to display on the control panel.
  4. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.

Photo smart 2610 all in one scanner will not scan

hey i also had this type of problem. but i solved it and hope it will solve yours too.
first of all uninstall all ur hp drivers and softwares related to the hp printer. then restart your pc. now disconnect ur printer with ur computer and turn it off and again on after 15 secs.
now insert the cd which i have got with the hp printer in the cd-driver of ur pc and install the driver.
after the installation is complete, connect ur printer, but do not remove ur cd.
then start scanning, and if it will again ask for installing driver, u dont have to worry it will install it from the cd.
this would surely help u, if problem persists, please tell me.

Printer does not power up

None of the leds are flashing or indicating the power.
First Possible solution is change power cable or put the one which is already working Cable. If Its not getting power Check the fuse of Printer. If nothing Works Consult to service center as it seems to be under Warranty before doing any manipulation in the circuit.
