Toshiba TV remote control / signal receive problem?

Like several other people I have just had the remote for my Toshiba 2873DB and my Panasonic DVD with Freeview lose several functions. The Panasonic remote problems are specific to controlling the TV only (volume, AV, standby etc) and the Toshiba remote retains some functionality (including av switch) but volume certainly is a no go.

It is an old tv but useful to keep as we have two young children that can't keep away from it with sticky fingers, crayons etc - perhaps its just had enough?

If you're sure the proper codes have not been lost in both your remotes, then possibly the IR receciver in you TV has gone bad. Stargazer

SOURCE: Toshiba (Model : 36A43) - volume goes down automatically

Try removing the batteries from the remote. Then adjust the volume from the tv panel. If the problem is resolved, then it sounds like you may have a stuck remote button.

Programming EUR7724KCO Panasonic Universal Remote Control

To program the remote, press and hold the TV button. Then enter the 2 digit code from the code list. The EUR7724KC0 will only control TVs from about 17 manufacturers that were manufactured before the remote was programmed. If the given code for the TV brand doesn't work or the manufacturer isn't listed, then the remote can't control that TV. I'll list a few of the codes (see the manual, link below, for more):
Panasonic 01, 02
RCA 03
Samsung 14

The EUR7724KC0 remote came with several devices including the PV-D4734S DVD/VCR. The directions for programming the TV code are on page 28 of that manual. The code list is on page 29. This manual is available from Panasonic here: http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/PVD4734S.pdf . Since this particular DVD/VCR model was listed at Amazon in 2004, it probably won't work for TVs built in that year or later.

I hope this helps.

My DMR-EH50 is stuck in SP mode and when I hit the button on the remote it keeps displaying CHK REMOTE 3. Would you know what is causing this. I cannot get the unit to do anything at all.

Very easy fix.

Your DVD recorder can be set up to accept remote contol signals on any one of three channels. Remote 1, Remote 2 or Remote 3.

Your remote can be set up to send signals on any of these channels. You need to make sure your recorder and remote are set to the same channel.

Your recorder is telling you that it is set to receive remote control signals on channel 3. This means your remote control is currently set for a different channel.

Assuming that you have a genuine Panasonic remote, do the following,

On your remote press the "Enter" button and hold it down. Then press the "3" button at the same time for two seconds, then release both. This will change your remote so it sends signals on Channel 3 which will match your recorder.

Those clever people at Panasonic realise that you will be delighted with their products and will probably have several of their appliances in use. The different channels avoids switching all your Panasonic gadgets at the same time. Clever huh?

I have a Toshiba SD-K860SU DVD video player that I have connected to my Panasonic TC-32LX60 LCD TV, but I cannot get the DVD player to work. My TV is connected to my Comcast cable service black box. Should...

You should use the component video input (which ever the TV has), you will get better pictures than the S-video.
As far as the remote control for the DVD, keep using the one that comes with your DVD player, Comcast remote does not always work, beside you get full function using the DVD's remote, that is how I use my DVD, same for the TV, Comcast remote my not be able to send out the signals to the ATV for selecting the input sources on the TV. Comcast remote is not a full functions remote.

My Onkyo DR90 DVD Remote Will Not Operate Components

Your Onkyo DR90 DVD Receiver remote control does not have universal remote functions, and cannot be (easily) programmed to control a Panasonic DMR ES15. Your DR90 remote does have a limited learning function, but it is designed to learn the codes from your TV's remote to control the TV. Only the following buttons are programmable by the TV Learning function:

I hope that helps.

Remote control codes

I'd check your Panasonic user's manual, usually, there is a list of codes for "other" devices. There may also be a way to do an automatic upload of the Toshiba device's code if it is on and the right button on the Panasonic remote is pushed.

MY DMR-EH55 has problems repsonding to the supplied remote control

Firstly, check you do not have bright light shining across the IR sensor. This can degrade the signal to noise ratio of the IR receiver.

Second, check you do not have a noisy mains electricity supply, arcing plug block or running from square wave inverter supply. Either of these can cause problems with IR receiver in the DVD player.
