SOURCE: while sewing the bobbin case moves, wheel locks up, needle locks

Im not sure if this will help but thought I would pass it along. My Pfaff 6122 tells me to check bobbin for thread unrolling clockwise before you place it back in the machine. I had mine turned to un roll counter clockwise, this is wrong, the bobbin will fall out when you pull on the thread while you are holding it in your hand. You may just keep putting it in backwards. Hope this works for you. J.R.

Make sure you are threading the machine correctly and it has the proper tension. Also check the bobbin the thread has to go thru the little lash

Top thread on my Brother Limited Edition 350 Sewing machine keeps breaking. Having used the automatic cutter, the thread pulls up and out of the needle when I want to start sewing again. Also the machine...

rethread the machine
try a top thread tension of 3 or 4
change the needle
always keep a thread tail of 3-5 inches on top & bobbin thread & keep the thread pulled back behind needle before starting to sew
always keep the bobbin area clean of lint & loose thread
& check under the needle plate for lint also
you might consider having the machine serviced, since you said it sounds like a tractor
some needle & thread are not compatable-try this

Cut 6-8 inch piece of thread of the spool you are going to use for your project
Take the needle you are going to use for the project
& insert the thread thru the eye of the needle
& lift one end of the thread to a 45 degree angle
& if the needle is the right size for the thread it will slide down the thread
But if the needle hangs on the thread you need one size larger needle for the thread

I can not thread a bobbin to save my life. Help.

first, google your sewing machines name and model number and "manual" or "users guide" and you can find the link to the PDF download. Here is what I found:

1 Raise the needle to its highest position by turning the balance whell toward you (counterclockwise) and raise the presserfoot lever. Slide the button and open cover.
2 insert the bobbin so the thread comes out in a clockwise direction. Use bobbins intended for this machine. !CAUTION! Be sure the bobbin is set so the thread unrols in the correct direction. If the thread unrolls in the wrong direction, it may cause the thread tension to be incorrect or the needle to break.
3 Hold the thread end, push the bobbin down with your finger, and pass the thread securely through the thread cutting groove.
4 Replce the bobbin cover. Place the left tab in place then press lightly on the right side until the cover clicks into place. *insert the cover so that the end of the thread comes out from the back of the cover.

good luck and G.Bless!

I have a brother XR-37. I was in the middle of

Did you find the broken bit of the needle ?
It may be jamming the bobbin case area and hook. Remove the needleplate and bobbin case and clean it all out then report back with progress.

My xl-5700 the needle keeps breaking or the thread keeps getting all bunched up plus I lost my instruction manual can I gat a new one

About the needle problem, Brother's FAQ gives the following response:

Make sure the needle is correctly inserted with the flat side facing the back and pushed up into the machine as far as possible.

The needle could have been damaged or bent. If so replace with a new one.

Make sure the fabric is not pulled excessively when sewing. Let the feed dogs move the fabric. Do not pull the fabric.

The combination of needle size, thread size and fabric is incorrect.
Be sure to use the correct needle and thread size for the fabric you are sewing.(example: Denim-size 16 needle and 40-50 heavy duty thread).

Brother XR65 twin needle threading

hi roscoepc1.....The threading pattern is identical to single needle. The only changes are that you now are threading 2 spools of thread, one thread for each needle. The only change that I reccommend, but not neccessary, is that while threading through the tension dial, lay your threads between separate discs, and not together between the same pair of discs. Your tension dial contains either 3 or 4 discs.......please update your post if you have any further information or questions.....good luck my friend
