I noticed today that when I play COD4 online, that when I shot there is a major delay in the reaction to my firing. A fractional delay in the actual firing, but even though I am hitting the target there is a major delay in the damage caused, and thus I am unable to sustain any kills.
My target even has tiem to turn and kill me while watching me blast away.
I would suspect this is caused by your Internet conection speed. Try going wired first, dissable any bacground downloads manually, make sore no other equipment is using internet at the time you're gaming

There have been connection issues with game ranger since its inception,in `03.It has fallen out of favor with most gamers and is very unstable on 7.Your best bet is to reboot your rig before every section.Restart the game ranger a few times when rebooted then try to play.In my personal experience x-fire works much better.Sorry I can offer no fixes and game ranger wont any time soon.
just wait for Modern Warfare 2. I play COD4 all the time and the problems are getting worse for everyone, not just you. Mine sometimes takes forever to get there, sometimes it doesn't and I have to restart, or the Playstation Network kicks me off a million times a night. 11-10-09 and COD MW2 will be out and then we can deal with all those problems :)
1-turn off game console..............2-disconnect router for 20 seconds then reconnect............3-turn on game console..............4-go to setting click on network setting.................5-go to internet connection and press X and disable the connection wait 10 seconds and renable the connection and cod4 should work fine on line.............................

The flash need to be fully charged before it would fire the shot.
In case the battery is old and supply power is not enough to boost the flash, it will await until the orange LED of flash indicator is no longer blinking, means ready to take picture with flash light.
Replace the new full battery will be better and faster to take shot with flash enable.
First of all I hope that you properly uninstalled the graphics drivers and restarted before you installed the graphics drivers for your new card. Old left over drivers can cause a major problem.

What graphics settings do you have it on? And is your firewall set to let it open?
You should also list your processor and the speed and make of your memmory.
I play cod4 on high with an agp .1950 pro @ 1024x768 resolution.
turn off antileasing and aniostropic filtering. Turn all optional settings off but keep textures on medium
No offense but you have the low end version of the hd 2xxx series and can probly only play at medium at best.
You can also go into catylst control panel and make sure the settings are auto balanced.
When you play online games it will usually require more system resources to power. Your processor also handles the data that is being sent and received during your online session. Some code for online games have more overhead than others. I do not believe that it has anything to do with your machine, but more the software and network overhead that the multiplayer game requires. If you notice that both single and multiplayer run on seperate executables...

Are you playing online? If so how fast is your internet connection. If you are using dial-up, then yes, there is a HUGE time delay and the only way to fix it is to get a faster connection, i.e. DSL or Cable broadband.
-Using a wireless router will also cause timing delays, especially if you have high encryption enabled. I always use a wired connection for gaming with a CAT6 ethernet cable. Good luck.
