Depends on the machine but for a stir crazy I use 1 cup of popcorn and 2 tablespoons of oil. This will tend to blow the top off the popcorn popper but my dog likes that. If you don't have a dog for cleanup, I would suggest 3/4 cup in a 5 qt popcorn popper.

About 4 tbsps oil and a heaping half cup popcorn kernels. Butter-flavored coconut oil is best. Otherwise, pure soybean oil, such as Wesson brand, has the best flavor and ability to withstand the high temperature of a commercial kettle. Canola oil tastes somewhat fishy when heated.

How much oil and popcorn kernels to use in gold medal machine

Try one ounce of oil, 1/2 teaspoon popcorn salt and 1/2 cup of popcorn and see how much it fills your machine and adjust quantities from there. This will usually fill a wok size bowl.

Popcorn not yellow-like at the movies

Flavocol is usually pretty good - use about 1/8 cup Flavocol for every 1/3 cup popcorn.

If it still isn't working out for you, try Cinemagic Popcorn packs - they give you yellow popcorn kernels and special yellow butter all in one-pack to give that yellow-popcorn look.
