I had my YP-T7J since 2005 and it's only when I started to use Windows Vista that this problem occured. Since I just Synced the player with my media library, I just reformated the player just to delete the recorded audio and then just synced back the music files. Kind of a tedious work but it's worth it. There is no longer support for 2005 Samsung media players.

Find remaining recording space on SAMSUNG SIR-S4040R

You will have to "Find space" by deleting something/anything to make "space" for "New" material. Basically it is trying to tell you the drive is filled up and ya need to either delete or cut & paste away to some other media, some data, to get more space to record more stuff. OK?

YP-T7J.IMG Error

I just had the same problem occur yesterday. I was unable to delete a recorded item that I accidentally recorder for over an hour. So, I had an hours worth of nothing on my player and it was taking up space. I did some things that ended up having the same message as yours on the player. I went to samsung's website and downloaded the firmware on my desktop. Make sure to save it to your desktop. That was the best way for me to get this fixed. Here is a step by step.

1. Go to the samsung website.
2. Go to support, a drop down will be seen and select download center
3. Click on search by model number
4. At the bottom you will see 4 tabs, click on firmware
5. Click on the icon that looks like a folder and says zip
6 I am using Fire Fox browser so when I click it a window will open up and I click save and this will take it to my desktop. I assume this is the same for explorer
7. I go to my desktop and see a zipped folder (20061102100326312_T7J_FW_V10207) and click on it
8. Here is an important step. When you click on the zipped folder and it opens, make sure to click the on the left hand side, extract all files. If you don't this will not work
9. Follow the screen that will pop up (the window wizard)
10. This will unzip the folder and create a new folder on your desktop called (20061102100326312_T7J_FW_V10207(2)). Open this folder up
11. Next, hook up the the YP-t7j to your computer and when the widow pops up (portable device), click on OPEN device to view files using windows explorer.
12. Click on the Icon TCNANDO
13. Now, open the folder (20061102100326312_T7J_FW_V10207(2)) which is the unzipped folder on the desktop
14. Have both windows open, the player window and the unzipped firmware window
15. Highlight both files in the firmware unzipped folder and drag them both to the player window. You should notice on the samsung screen that upgrades are being downloaded. Watch the screen until it says completed. Then unplug the player from the computer and turn on the player. It will turn on and do the upgrades and then it will shut off again. Turn it on again and it should work

Hopefully this will help. I know I put a lot of steps on here. I did this because I know when I search for info, I like step by step. I spent a few hours trying to figure out the problem. So i figured I would do the step by step and hope to solve the problems in a few minutes. I was getting really frustrated trying to fix this and I was worried the player was useless. This worked for me.

I think all the steps are right. I will check back on this post to see if it worked for you. Hopefully you check this site and not have thrown your player away.

GOOD LUCK
