Check the wire connection at the bottom of the right upright. Male Female white connectors. if they are good then check speed sensor under the left rear treadle. Must be about credit card distance from drive pulley. Remove rear covers to access. Note you will have to remove both side covers and back cover. 10 Screws.

My treadclimber 5000 treadils stops runing when I get step on the right one

Recalibrate the machine if speed is not registering, belts stop turning or the display readout shows an "err, LS, OS" on the face. Calibrate the Bowflex TreadClimber 5300 by plugging it in. Stand on the foot platforms, or floor mat. Do not stand on the walking belt. Insert the safety key. Press the "start" key when "CAL/PRSS/STRT" shows on the readout. If readout fails to show the "CAL/PRSS/STRT" symbol, turn off machine and turn it back on. Press "ENTER" and then "DOWN SPEED" at the same time until "CAL/PRSS/STRT" shows up on the display. Belts will start and stop during the calibration; do not be alarmed. Do not make any adjustments or interrupt the display of numbers as the unit goes through the calibrations. When the machine is finished calibrating, the readout will display "CAL...PASS" and you can press the "POWER" key to get out of the calibration section

My Bowflex Treadclimber keeps coming up with an Error L5. This error message shows up 5 seconds after turning the machine on. My husband looked it up yesterday and said that the machine needs to be...

L5 due to the screen is actually LS (lost signal) the first place to check is the gap of the speed sensor. under left treadle 2 black wires. Removing the rear covers will allow you to see the lwr cntrl board and move the belt by hand. The gren led light should flash once per revolution of the drive pulley. If not then it is the speed sensor. Adjust sensor to pully about thickness of a credit card. then calibrate unit.
LS is also tripped by any broken wires or bad connections. Start at sensor and board first.

Had my TC5000 for a year and this is the first time this happened. I use it everyday. Googled "Bowflex Teadclimber error codes" and found this link  download.dfxi.com/supportdocs/AM/Bowflex/BFX_TC135_AM_2008.pdf which is a pdf manual.
I'm going to try this fix now, hope it works for you and me
Here's what it says for ERR LS:
Belts stop turning and “err LS” or “err OS” is displayed Calibration Re-calibrate machine using Owner’s Manual calibration procedure. Speed sensor 1. Cycle power off and on. 2. Put the machine in calibration mode (see Calibration procedure in Owner’s Manual) but do not start the calibration routine. 3. Remove right rear plastic cover to view LED diagnostics on control board. Caution: Machine is on. Current is active!! 4. Locate LED D on the motor controller board. LED may be lit or unlit. 5. Manually advance the treadle with your foot, and check if LED D is blinking. 6. If LED D is not blinking, then the speed sensor is not supplying a signal. Check that the speed sensor wire is plugged into the motor controller board, to the connection labeled “P1”. Check connection of speed sensor to jumper wire. Check speed sensor adjustment (use business card to set gap between sensor and pulley). If LED D still does not flash replace sensor. I/O cables If LED D is flashing when the belts are turning but err LS or OS persists check connections and for signs of visible damage to any of the three I/O cables. If no damage, check continuity using a multi-meter. If a multi-meter is not available contact customer service for replacement cables and further assistance.
