Turn machine on holding down the utility key.Trouble reset and Turn off machine.Good luck.

I have a trc 496 rat shack 40 chnl cb, it has a modular jack on the mic which plugs into it<like a phone jack>, anyone know where I can get a mic like this preferably ...

Many Singer machine manuals are available here: http://www.singerco.com/support/instruction-manuals . The 496 is not available. However, the manual for the Starlet 495 is available: http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/8a78e29267b106e9d2902ac0f6758edf694e6d61.pdf . Since Singer doesn't change the machines significantly, this manual may help you.

It should be grounded. Check your plug to make sure your ground post on the plug end hasn't been removed. Also check to make sure that it's one of those polarized plugs and that it's plugged in correctly.

IH input voltage error • While the IH heater was ON, input power was at the high voltage detection value or over for more than the predetermined period of time. • While the IH heater was ON, input voltage was at the low power detection value or under for more than the predetermined period of time

Causes

• IH coil unit (IHC) • IH power supply (IHPU) • Noise filter (NF1) • Printer control board (PRCB)

Remedy

1 Check the connection of the fusing unit. 2 Check the fusing unit, IHC, IHPU, NF1 and PRCB for proper connection and correct or change as necessary. 3 Check the marketing area of the fusing unit. If the marketing area is incorrect, replace the fusing unit for proper marketing area. 4 Check the marketing area of IHPU. If the marketing area is incorrect, replace IHPU for proper marketing area. 5 Replace IHC 6 Replace IHPU 7 Replace PRCB 8 Replace NF1

Sorry, but many of the low end keyboards do NOT have backlights. This is especially true of those that have the capability of running off batteries like the CTK-496.

The display in this is a reflectance type that needs ambient lighting to view.

According to the manual for the 496, "All keyboard settings are returned to their initial defaults whenever keyboard power is turned back on after being turned off by operation of the Power/Mode switch or Auto Power Off.
