It's not you. it's your mic. Clean it out with a toothpick. BE GENTLE. Blow softly.Turn the toothpick slowly while you clean. if the issue persists, it's THEIR volume. tell them to turn up their headset volume.
first, verify your headphones are working. to do this, find another know working set and test. once you know they are working, verify unit has full charge and volume control is set up. If still not working, port has likely broken solder. If out of warrant, you can disassemble and solder yourself if qualified.
It might be that the contacts for the headphone jack is very dirty. Try using a cotton swab with a wd-40 on it to clean the inside contacts on the jack.

to change just go to settins and then where it says volume
