REMOVE THE SPARK PLUG, RECONNECT THE CABLE AND WHILE THE SPARK PLUG IS RESTING ON THE BLOC OPERATE THE STARTING PROCEDURE AND SEE IF THE PLUG IS SPARKING.

If its one of the guaranteed to start mower they have had a lot of carburetor problems and needs to got to shop for warranty or replacement.

My Kohler Command 20 HP running fine, shut down, won't restart. How should I troubleshoot this problem?

check for fuel try starting fluid if it fires on that then you have spark if it does not then you have a spark problem and seeing the command engine has two coils check the safety switches on the mower side

Pull cord pulls hard won't start

Remove the top engine flywheel & pull cord cover

Most likely dirty,as well as worn out. or the cord
is in the wrong place, you will see that, once apart

You can work on it some & down the road
get a new one if you have to

Husqvarna 6021p won't start

Make sure spark plug wire is connected and that plug is not blackened and fouled out. Also check your fuel filter (plugged?), the handbar safety lever & it pull cable and make sure it is opening the breather assembly down at the motor or closing the proper switch (unsure of the setup) Those are typically the most common problems. Good Luck

Kohler 149 cc engine won't start seems to be getting no fuel

This may not fix your problem but it does deal with that engine. I just tried to replace the spark plug in that engine and it took me 5 hours. The Kohler plug in the engine that came from the factory cannot be found in traditional stores and it is a strange size, 11/16 or 12 mm. The Kohler plug is #1413211. I could not find a match in a book. Divine intervention lead me to a place where they were fixing the Kohler 149cc engine that had the same plug in it that mines did. I discovered that a Champion 8815 does fit the engine but it takes a 18mm socket. It did fix the problem and the mower works. Hopefully this will save someone my hassles.
