Hello You haven't given the exact model number ot your LG DVD, so I can only give you a general solution to this problem. Get into its meny, surf through, come to SYSTEM adjust window, change the system. If a NTSC system recorded disc played with PAL system adjustment with DVD, there will be only black/white pciture, and vice versa. Adjust it to the color system thathave been adopted your country. this must solve the problem. OK.
you can try using a DVD cleaner disk on your unit, try several times to make cretin it is clean then try your DVD`s again, if the unit was stored in a damp area this may be a problem, DVD players can be finicky due to this, there may also be a manufacturing defect in the unit that made it fail prematurely.
Most commonly with this unit there is a compatibility issue with PALS or NTSC Formatting. Make sure the DVD player, DVD itself and the TV unit are all compatible. Also, since this unit commonly comes with the Standard Red, White, and Yellow Video/Audio Cables, Try switching to the Composite Cables. (Red, Green, and Blue-generally). This should fix the incompatibility issue. Hope this helps
there is a circuit in the color section to put the tv to black and white if the color subcarrier is missing from the broadcast signal.
it is called a color killer and needs to be adjusted.
it is for a technician to do.
it operates off the 3.58mhz color subcarrier.
sir/maam it is possible that the DVD player is not compatible with colored tv,s or one more thing is kindly first adjust the screen focus of your tv,,,,thnksss and hope to help you!!!more power
The tapes are B/W or one of the playback video heads is not making contact with the tape. The video head may need to be adjusted. You can take it in to get it fixed or buy a new one. The unit today is worth around $25-$30.
Hi
Obviously the unit is playing the disk because your audio is fine, and getting some kind of black & white picture out of the composite, means that the video processor is probably ok.
The most likely things to check then is the yellow video cable, (just swap the red or white in place of the yellow on both the DVD and your tv to test), or possibly the yellow RCA jack on the back of your DVD has gotten loose. If you have not done so, try wiggling it gently to see if your video comes back. If it does, and you are handy with a soldering iron, you can probably repair it yourself. Other than that, it would be a problem for a repair shop. (and a strange one!)
Hope this helps, and good luck!
